Revisiting Brolita basics: Transformation

Over a year ago, I started a series of articles called the Brolita Basics. They were a series of writings I put together using my experience to help other brolitas and even other lolitas get an idea of how to get around starting their young lolita lives. Over time I compiled several articles that have probably been the most popular articles to read on my blog.

One of those articles was a transformation post. But it was not a complete transformation, merely showcasing the start and end. And there were plenty of pointers. But I figured it was time to do a start to finish with a step by step of how I go from normal looking me to lolita looking me.

Lolita transformations can take a while and for a guy (and even gals), it can be confusing as to how one should do it. Should I put on my makeup first? Maybe the outfit first? When does my wig come on? O wait, a corset goes on before my shoes? O crap -_-.... It may not be rocket science but for some, it might as well be. Well look no further, here I am to show you how I do it.Using what I have learned and trial-and-error I put together a general procedure I run through to accomplish the transformation.

Come on through and follow along!

I know, I know. Its me. Half-naked, in some VS lounge pants, fresh out of a shower. Or maybe it was bed...
Anywho, this is where it all begins. I've shaved my face. Picked out an outfit. Laid out my makeup. Ready to be transformed.

My makeup, set out and ready to go. You can see my circle lenses in the bottom right. The foundations are right between the VS brush bag and the eye shadow. The only thing that wasn't set out was the eye pencil, which was kept in the makeup box you see right at the very top of the pic.

I have recently enjoyed doing two different contact eye colors. Totally not required but I just find it fun to do. Circle lenses from Pinky Paradise.

Once I get my contacts on, I put on my underthings before I start on my makeup. Usually I also wear a VS nightshirt to help keep makeup from dirtying things but for the sake of this picture, I did not wear it. For this picture, I am wearing a VS Bombshell strapless bra and bloomers from Amber of My Dearest Victoria

So usually, you want to put on your socks and shoes before you put on your corset. I have just gotten used to wearing my corset long enough that I finally figured out how to get socks and shoes on with the corset. Even so, the corset is entirely optional. Corsets are not a requirement but they can really help shape your waist to give your outfit some nice look. Here I am wearing a corset from Timeless Trends.

Having just applied my makeup. I am no teacher for applying makeup so don't ask me XD But there are tons of tutorials online. And quite honestly, I learned how to apply makeup by just doing it. Sure you may look like a train wreck your first few times but that is what trial and error is for. You will quickly begin to learn what works and what does not work.

Once I get my makeup on, I tend to put on my dress and blouse on first, followed by my wig, and lastly my socks and shoes. Once again, if you are wearing a corset, make sure you can put on your shoes before putting everything else on else all that work will have to come off just so you can get your shoes on. Here I am pictured wearing a wig from GLW, a blouse from the now defunct In The Starlight, jsk by Blasphemina's Closet, socks from Bodyline, and shoes from some Ebay seller XD

don't actually know how to link my shoes....

So that is pretty much it right there. Nothing too fancy. Hopefully this post will be of assistance to people who are looking for transformation post to guide them. And if anyone has any further questions, feel free to throw em my way.

Celebrity Marijuana Quotes

Albert Einstein Marijuana Quote"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."
- Albert Einstein quote on Hemp
Marijuana Quote from Willie Nelson
"I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?”"
- Willie Nelson quote on Marijuana

Marijuana Quote from Norman Mailer
"One's condition on marijuana is always existential. One can feel the importance of each moment and how it is changing one. One feels one's being, one becomes aware of the enormous apparatus of nothingness -- the hum of a hi-fi set, the emptiness of a pointless interruption, one becomes aware of the war between each of us, how the nothingness in each of us seeks to attack the being of others, how our being in turn is attacked by the nothingness in others"
- Norman Mailer quote on Marijuana
Marijuana Quote from Marilyn Manson
"i talked to Snoop Doggy Dog today. well I'm not sure if you could really call it talked because I could hardly understand what he was saying. But i think he was trying to communicate was that he wanted to work with me in some sort of capacity and something involving marijuana."

How Marijuana Helps Moms

Despite the fact that MJ has helped me immensely with continual pain from a previous surgery, there are added benefits as a parent that I've come to acknowledge over the past few years.

I'm calmer, have less stress, and am more pleasant to be around. It's the simple truth.   : )

Vaporizing Marijuana (Mj) I have more of a healthy appetite. Life is now  often go go go, trying to cram a ton of things to doeating a healthy meal doesn't always take top priority. I know it should, but sometimes I just can't stop to eat. Mj helps me to consistently have a healthier appetite than I would otherwise.

MJ also helps to calms my nerves (every time), helps me have more patience and a calmness that can't easily be explained. I know non-mj-smokers are thinking: "Marijuana is a drug, it's wrong, you can't use it for good, it kills brain cells." But take a look at current evidence people. Watch documentaries and studies from NORML.org. It's a frigin PLANT and states are passing laws to legalize it for medical and recreational purposes. The studies that claim "it kills brain cells" are from decades ago and completely irrelevant now; like the monkey study.

I asked a few of my friends in my mommy circle their (private) opinion on how smoking marijuana has helped them with their parenting. These were their responses:

How many deaths are caused by Marijuana?

Many people question - has marijuana directly caused any deaths?

A snippet of the table (below) shows the number of deaths from 17 FDA-approved drugs as the primary suspect of death surpasses 10,000, while Marijuana is 0.

Info tracked from 1997 to 2005
*Source: Procon.org - an independent, non-partisan, nonprofit public charity.
Website for data: medicalmarijuana.procon.org

Total deaths reported from 1997 to 2005:

Marijuana: 0
17 FDA-Approved drugs: 10,008  (including Viagara, Lithium, Ritalin, Vioxx)

Well known fact: The FDA still deems marijuana illegal.

So, in 8 years 10,000+ people die from FDA approved drugs, yet marijuana remains against the law. Great job, FDA.

From the 2011 Documentary "A NORML Life" directed by Rod Pitman:

"Well it turns out that it probably is a very basic part of our physiology. Not only do we have the endocannabanoids, or natural cannabinoids, but Dr. Mechoulam's research group also found that we have cannabinoid receptors. So we have--CB1 receptors, CB2 receptors, for where they are in the body.

An example of one of the importances of this research is they discovered why massive doses of cannabis has never killed anybody. There's not been one recorded death...it turns out that we don't have any cannabinoid receptors in the medulla oblongata. That's the part of the brain that controls respiration and heart rate.

So massive doses of many other drugs (heroin, meth), or even not so massive doses, cause respiratory depression, cardiac suppression, and death. Massive amounts of marijuana might make people fall asleep, but it doesn't cause them to stop breathing or stop their heart rate."

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services 2003 article "Mortality Date from the Drug Abuse Warning Network, 2001" states:

"Marijuana is rarely the only involved in a drug abuse death. Thus...the proportion of marijuana-induced cases labeled as 'one drug' (i.e., marijuana only) will be zero or nearly zero."

How to Use a Vaporizer {Da Buddha}

This tutorial is for anyone starting the switch from traditional pipe smoking to vaporizing medical marijuana.

I have reviewed different types of vaporizers here. Vaporizing is definitely the healthier, better, longer-lasting and benefit-inducing way to go!

Step 1. Turn on your vaporizer and allow to heat up for 3-4 minutes before using. Temp should be between 325 and 365 degrees for optimal vapors.
