Important Capcom CPS2 Announcement

Dear colleagues,

It is our pleasure to announce a very important milestone in arcade conservation, the successful reverse engineering of Capcom's CPS2 security programming. A major development giving full hardware control of this popular platform over to the community, and helping preservation by enabling the clean desuicide and restoration of any dead games without hardware modifications.

This achievement has been made possible thanks to the help, support and collaboration of many dedicated individuals who just like you have an altruistic passion about arcade games, their hardware, history and legacy. All the discoveries and results generated by this project will be soon shared publicly, free of charge.

Over the coming days the project will see a limited release to selected testers to help ensure maturity before the public disclosure happens.

Stay tuned to further details.

The ArcadeHacker project

Should I not direct you to something by which Allah obliterates the sins and elevates (your) ranks

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Should I not direct you to something by which Allah obliterates the sins and elevates (your) ranks." They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah". He said, "Performing Wudu' properly, even in difficulty, frequently going to the mosque, and waiting eagerly for the next Salat (prayer) after a Salat is over; indeed, that is Ar- Ribat". [Muslim].

Some conclusions articulated in this table are taken from comparison between these tree guides on Hacking/Programming.
The first one that i came across was this Eric Raymonds: how to become a hacker:
Which after some time i have realized is oriented towards people who are already able to program at least in one programming language. Like a Developer and/or WebDeveloper. Which are definately not a beginners wanting to learn to program, for the first time. Because whitespace/functional programming/and perl input efficency supperiority? You know first timers have other concerns.

There is also this guide from Peter Norvig on how to learn programming in 10 years:
Which explains just slightly a little bit more the situation, and kind of looks like more oriented at kind of a beginner instead of somebody who has already some experience.

But if you ask me the best modern summary on this topic have been given my the one of the best hackers of all time.

Verify the integrity of downloaded ISO files

You should always verify any downloaded ISO file. The reason is that the file may have been maliciously modified by a hacker and can install malware like backdoors, keyloggers etc into your computers.

The ISO file is signed using the private key to create a digital signature. The public key is used to verify the signature. The digital signature file is used to verify the ISO file.

This verifies that the file has been created by the owner himself, since nobody else has his private key. Also, it verifies that the file has not been modified or tampered in any way.

1) Download the ISO file.

[shabbir@block1 Downloads]$ wget https://github.com/Security-Onion-Solutions/security-onion/releases/download/v14.04.4.1/securityonion-14.04.4.1.iso

2) Download the digital signature for the above downloaded ISO file.

[shabbir@block1 Downloads]$ wget https://github.com/Security-Onion-Solutions/security-onion/raw/master/securityonion-14.04.4.1.iso.sig

3) Download the public key.

[shabbir@block1 Downloads]$ wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Security-Onion-Solutions/security-onion/master/KEYS

4) Import the public key in your public keyring.
[shabbir@block1 Downloads]$ gpg --import KEYS

5) View your public keyring
[shabbir@block1 Downloads]$ gpg2 --list-keys

Coda

It's long past time to make this official: UR has completed its mission.

If you're discovering UR just now and don't feel like wading through a 2007-era Blogger template, some of the more salient pieces are available as Kindle books, here.  Start with the Open Letter or the Gentle Introduction.

If you're here because you clicked on one of those clickbait pieces and you're horrified, don't be afraid!  All your conditioning is telling you to run very fast in the opposite direction.  That's normal.  It's a healthy instinct.  Honestly, there's quite a solid case for taking the blue pill.  It's a vitamin.  It's good for you.  Whatever is in that red pill, it's definitely not a vitamin.

And let's not just dismiss the idea that you're right.  So is everyone else.  So is the world.  "All is for the best, in this the best of all possible worlds."  Still... perhaps we could try a little test?

Say the word democracy.  Notice how good it sounds.  Everything democratic is good.  A democratic meeting, a democratic policy, a democratic giraffe... if the adjective fits the noun at all, anything you paint with it comes out shiny and bright.

Now say the word politics.  Notice how bad it sounds.  This person is a politician.  She's being so political.  These dangerous proposals would politicize US foreign policy.  Every use of the word is negative.  Everything you paint with it comes out sordid and mean.

But... what is democracy without politics?  Is there any such thing?  If there is, doesn't it sound like something North Korea would come up with?  Our higher form of democracy has transcended mere  politics.  Uh huh.  Sure.  I know where you're going with that.

As objective realities  structures of governance  aren't democracy and politics in fact... synonyms?  But if they're the same word, how can they have opposite connotations?  How can it be that everyone knows, obviously, of course, democracy is a good thing, but politics is a bad thing?

Anyway.  They're just questions, Leon.  If you feel like you have a good answer, great.  Definitely go with that.  I hope it's juicy and delicious.

Dressing Tips for Candidates Meet-laws

Lover invite you to meet with the family at the weekend. Encouraging news but also makes the heart excited. Meet with prospective in-laws sometimes make palpitations, especially when this meeting is the first meeting with the parents of your spouse.

Feeling nervous and confused in deciding what clothes to wear, often hit women, perhaps including you. It is a natural thing, because she definitely wants to look demure and graceful in front of prospective in-laws.

Be careful, lest you one costume, because this first meeting should really make a positive impression in order to keep your image in front of prospective in-laws. For that, you need to know the rules of fashion today want to visit the prospective in-laws house.

1. Avoid flashy clothes and excessive
We met the family of the couple avoid undue wear clothing. Needless to follow the development trend of the fashion world. Moreover, the parents of a lover born in traditional times that may not understand the trend harem or capri pants you wear. Clothing closed and tend polite, will add a plus in the eyes of future in-laws, because You are what you wear.

2. Polite is a Must!
Comments about what you wear is a nightmare that could have been avoided. Do not let your comment because wearing clothes that reveal too many body parts. For example, clothes that are too tight or backless dress.

3. Style simple is better
Avoid clothes that have a low cleavage. Wear clothing that is comfortable but not too open, there are many options that you can spend blouse.

4. Wear closed
If the prospective in-laws family event requires you to stay, then take the clothes rather closed but still comfortable. You may not wear a baby doll or lingerie when staying at home lovers. Choose clothes or pajamas regular sleep so impressive relaxed but still polite.

5. Proper shoes
Footwear is the last option for you to consider. Of course you do not need to wear work shoes or high heels when visiting family couples. Wear slippers or sandals casual but still polite.

Tips although dressed casual modern look

Despite the relaxed atmosphere, women can still look fashionable. In any case, women are required to air-aesthetic included in a dress. Choose clothes though easy but necessary rigor, if one mode might we be strange appearance. If you are a modern woman who likes to follow fashion trends, you should consider how to choose casual clothes following.

  • Choose fabrics of cotton which is easy to absorb sweat. Avoid shiny colors for patterns and colors also have an effect for a more attractive appearance. You can also wear accessories to make it more fashionable. Casual clothes once in a while can be combined with a t-shirt and a blazer that seemed relaxed but still look formal.

  • Women with large body does not mean to die style. Any model body shape will look proportional when you can work around this. For a woman who has a big belly can disguise with a skirt or trousers with a side section ziper position. To skirt or pants should you choose to hip above the waist line.

  • To look slimmer, choose matching colors to superiors and subordinates. Beige, charcoal and chocolate are usually suitable for women with plump body shape. If you belong to a small breasted women could be overcome by making the bustline tops fashion so that breasts look fuller.

  • For women with pear body shape can wear A-line skirt with lightweight materials to accent the swing (waving). Although for casual clothes, you should carefully choose the type of clothing sweater. Maybe with a loose sweater can cover large breasts, but it actually covers your curves. We recommend that you choose a model sweater made from elastic to follow the curves.

  • Relax with a very fitting jackets in winter. Besides using a jacket can make the body seem high. Choose a long jacket reached the thigh combined with straight pants and combined with the high heels so that body look taller and slimmer.

  • Casual clothing choices above is only a small part way to customize clothes that fit the body shape. The rest you can set your own casual clothes that suit your body shape, of course, by not leaving the elements of decency.

How big is your Calculus? or go Matan yourself!

I have been kinda reading somewhat about programming lately, like for the last year or two.
And often when i noticed the discussions going far in to the, now kind of trending, functional land,
or sometimes when discussion was going even deeper (you see the trend there), i have seen calculus being mentioned. I always asked myself what the heck is this Calculus thing they are talking about. Its not like i'm totally math illiterate. Back in Russia 15 years ago i almost finished secondary education. Which means we have studied sines, cosines, tangents and cotangents stuff. (trigonometry apparently, like i even remember right..).
But then i ended up in Belgian public school, where we were studying worst programming language of all time, which was worst school i have ever been to. I couldn't understand anything. Maybe because it all was in Dutch. Or, i just discovered this, i have no words what i feel now.. o.O For years, after this C++ and boolean algebra failure, i was thinking Europe was so advanced i maybe wasn't smart enough.. But hoorah to the new math. And Cpp madness.
But ok now. When i finally found out that this Calculus thing in Russian is called Matan - and started reading about it. I discovered words i have already been hearing from my mother for years. Like integrals and differentials. When she was romanticizing how she was studying it at the University. (Immanuel Kant's University).. And this article actually really explained quite some stuff about it to me.

I also just noticed that it is also about Lambda Calculus actually, rather than about just Calculus. But after i just formed the scheme for myself that i had lessons of trigonometry and that is something on the level before the precalculus. This is already enough for me to at least know where im standing. The rest doesnt matter. Im not planning to be a mathematician in the near future.

Maybe this guy is actually right, because as soon as i decided to leave and dont care anymore about this failed Microsoft Academy i have been spending a lot of my free time at and for, last few years. And maybe just do an online Linux course or even better some WebDev stuff. I started to discover a bunch of interesting stuff.
Or maybe im just going mad right now..
p.s. Common Core the Billy talks about has something to do with this new math to.
