George Strait’s Custom Texas Mansion Hits the Market

By Scott T. Sterling

It’s safe to say that we all have an idea of how our dream home would look. George Strait made that dream into a reality.

Related: George Straits Returns to Vegas for Super Bowl Weekend

Strait’s custom-built mansion in San Antonio, Texas, has now hit the market.

The country legend’s dream home sits on 12.2 acres of secluded land in San Antonio, which Strait bought in the 1990s.

The mansion was designed by world-renowned architect Bill Tull, who relocated to Texas for 2 years to build it. It features 14 hand-crafted fireplaces, stained glass windows, a copper-top bar, and an infinity pool and spa.

If you’re wondering how much it will cost to make Strait’s mansion your own, well, he’s not saying.

“He doesn't want to flaunt what he has,” said listing agent Tamara Strait of Sotheby's International Realty, who also happens to be the singer’s daughter-in-law (via Mansion Global). “He doesn't like to be in the limelight, that's why we weren't advertising it as his house.”

It didn’t take long for word to get out that Strait’s home was on the market, with Tamara Strait receiving a flood of calls from prospective buyers quoting rumored asking prices, including the home's property tax value of $3.9 million. Ms. Strait says the actual price is more like “like three times that.”

Radiohead Won’t Attend Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony

Radiohead have made it perfectly clear: the band won’t be attending the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Related: Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien Doesn’t ‘Understand’ Rock Hall Nomination

At this point, the band is only nominated. But should they be inducted they would not be available for the April 14 ceremony, the group’s recently revealed South American tour dates have them in Buenos Aires, Argentina on that date.

A spokesperson for the band made the point even clearer, confirming to Consequence of Sound that “they're not attending.”

“It's in our DNA to be a little ambivalent with award ceremonies,” Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien told Esquire earlier this month. “We haven't had great experiences. I would never want to disrespect anything because obviously some amazing artists have been nominated. But if I'm honest I don't understand it. It's just kind of a British person going, 'Okay, thanks, what does this mean?'”

Radiohead will spend much of the month of April in South America, with additional shows in Chile, Peru, Brazil and Columbia.

JAY-Z Says ‘4:44’ and Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ Started as a Joint Album

Posted: 29 Nov 2017 09:13 AM PST

According to JAY-Z, his GRAMMY-nominated album, 4:44, and Beyoncé’s smash Lemonade started out as a joint collaboration between the two artists.

The revelation was made during a new JAY-Z interview with the New York Times, where the rapper said that their marital issues spilled over into studio sessions.

“We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together,” the rapper revealed. And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on.”

JAY-Z went on to say that the songs the pair worked on together eventually became a jumping off point for both albums.

“We still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became,” he explained. “There was never a point where it was like, ‘I'm making this album.’ I was right there the entire time.”

The rapper added that listening to each other’s final product was hard, but ultimately beneficial.

“It was uncomfortable. And we had a lot of conversations,” JAY-Z said. “[I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released. And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another’s craft. I think she’s amazing.”

The pop star has revealed how her holiday duet with boyfriend Blake Shelton came to be.

“He was sitting on his bus, I guess, and he began writing (the song) "You Make it Feel Like Christmas," which he sends to me in a voice text,” Stefani shared in a recent interview with KYXY 96.5’s AJ in the Morning in San Diego recently. “I had no idea that he was going to be working on anything. It was a shock and when I listened to the song, it was incredible. I was like, ‘You just wrote a hit, like this song, what do you do, you just sit around on your bus, writing hits? What a jerk!' I was jealous, you know what I mean? I want to do that.”

Stefani went on to reveal how Shelton’s voice text was crafted into a track for her Christmas album: “I took the song and we finished it and I made him do a duet, because I wanted to get as much out of him as I can because he's so unbelievably talented and such a sexy babe.”

Bruno Mars wanted to make sure his television special Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo, wasn’t a traditional video concert.

Related: Watch Bruno Mars Perform 'Just the Way You Are' in Spanish

“We didn't want this to be just a television show where the Hooligans and I sing three songs and go to commercial then sing three more songs and go to another commercial,” he told Billboard.

Instead, Mars and his production team worked hard to ensure the hour-long program captured the spirit of the historic venue.

“The band and I wanted to create a vibe that translates what we felt at the Apollo Theater,” Mars said. “As soon as we walked in there, we said this is the only place to do this special. Hopefully, the audience will feel that vibe at home.”

In addition, Mars, who was the co-executive producer of  Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo, strived to make sure the audience was filled with a diverse array of people.

“We wanted everybody in the community to come out to the show,” he said. “So we passed out tickets as we met people in different locations. You'll see them in the audience at the Apollo.”

Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo airs tonight (Nov 29) at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
