HIAS out of the closet says Daniel Greenfield, Sarsour support confirms

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 07:26 AM PST

Thanks to several readers who sent it, here is yet another reason for the US government to cut off funding for refugee resettlement groups who have become out-of-the-closet political agitation groups.

mark-hetfield

Hetfield

Longtime readers know that HIAS receives millions of taxpayer dollars to place refugees in unsuspecting towns and cities and they have led the charge in the courts against Donald Trump’s efforts to keep us safe by limiting certain migrants entry in to the US.

HIAS also recently helped organize an anti-Trump rally along with CAIR in Washington, DC, here.

And, they invited Rep. Keith Ellison to speak at an anti-Trump rally here.

(Sure hope HIAS is keeping its pots of federal and private money separate! Is there a funding firewall at HIAS?)

Here is Greenfield on Mark Hetfield’s latest:

Is this the moment when Mark Hetfield and HIAS officially joined the anti-Israel lobby?

hias (with gun)

Mark Hetfield had already hijacked HIAS and transformed it from a Jewish organization to a radical left-wing group concerned entirely with Muslim migration.

Hetfield’s HIAS had already attacked Israel and collaborated with the anti-Israel group, J Street.

But signing a statement in support of Linda Sarsour, an Islamic anti-Semitic activist who celebrated throwing stones at Jews, is Mark Hetfield’s official coming out party.

The immediate trigger for this was having Sarsour head a New School panel accusing Jews of exploiting anti-Semitism. That’s quite a show for a woman who is quite comfortable with Louie Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.

[….]

Previously, Mark Hetfield had avoided getting his hands dirty. Now he no longer seems to care.

Continue here for more and to follow links.

Go here to see my ever-expanding file on HIAS (aka Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) one of the US State Department’s nine federal resettlement contractors.

Here are the nine (LOL! I haven’t named them often enough lately). I sure hope all of them have built firewalls between their federal funding and the money they use for political activities.

US Catholic Bishops Thanksgiving message: we thank the US taxpayers for so generously supporting our good works

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 06:06 AM PST

That headline is a joke of course!

As the Bishops gathered and gave “thanks for the gift and contributions of immigrants and refugees to our great nation,” not a peep was mentioned about the millions of tax payer dollars going to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops “Migration Fund” which allows them to demonstrate their humanity to man (well, to the foreign ones anyway).

Before you read the story, here again is a reminder of just one year of the income the Bishops received thanks to the generosity of US taxpayers.

I wrote this in July, here, summarizing the income that nine federal refugee contractors*** receive for their ‘charitable’ good works.

The Bishops Migration Fund was 97% taxpayer-funded according to a 2014 annual report for their Migration Fund and I doubt the percentage has changed much in recent years.

The Bishops don't file a Form 990 and their operations are so vast, I could spend the whole day and still not sort it out.  Also, maybe you can find one, but I have not found an annual report for their refugee program since I found this one for 2014.

So we will have to rely on it (again). Keep in mind these funds for their refugee resettlement program do not include millions that go directly from the feds to some individual Catholic Charities and Dioceses around the US. (If you are researching your local CC or Dioceses, you can often find good numbers at USASpending.gov)

Both the federal grants and the travel loan collections are your taxpayer dollars!

Now here is the news from Crux:

U.S. bishops release Thanksgiving message advocating for migrants and refugees

NEW YORK – The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has issued a special Thanksgiving message, offering a particular plea for the protection of migrants and refugee families.

Pope Francis Attends A Mass for The Opening Of The Synod

Worried look? As refugee admissions decline, so will their income! Cardinal Daniel DiNardo gets top USCCB job:  http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2016/11/15/u-s-catholic-bishops-elect-texas-cardinal-to-top-post/

In a statement released on Monday, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston and president of the USCCB, expressed solidarity with DACA recipients, beneficiaries of Temporary Protected Status, and other refugees attempting to escape persecution or danger in their home countries. [We pay them millions for their advocacy!—ed]

DiNardo cited last week's fall assembly of U.S. bishops in Baltimore and said the conference was "attentive in a special way to those who are often excluded from this great abundance-the poor, the sick, the addicted, the unborn, the unemployed, and especially migrants and refugees.

"My brothers expressed a shared and ever-greater sense of alarm-and urgency to act-in the face of policies that seemed unthinkable only a short time ago," said DiNardo.

[….]

DiNardo also used his Thanksgiving message to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform, a long-time policy goal of the USCCB. [If the Senate Gang of Eight bill had been signed in to law, the refugee contractors would have gotten an expanded role and more taxpayer money to sign the newly amnestied up for their government services, just as they do now for refugees—ed]

"This year, I give thanks for the gift and contributions of immigrants and refugees to our great nation. I also pray that next year, families now under threat will not be broken and dispersed, but instead will be united in joy around their tables, giving thanks for all the blessings our nation has to offer," he concluded.

(Including the blessings of an over-flowing federal treasury that sends us millions annually!)

More here.

I’m going to continue talking about this until the Bishops tell Americans the truth about their income! Why is that so hard?

***These are the nine federal refugee contractors paid by you to place refugees in your towns and cities.

Canada: Trying to deport thousands, but home countries won’t take them back

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 04:37 AM PST

Although the story is headlined….

Canada Attempts To Deport Illegal Somali Immigrants

….the article makes the case that the Canadian government is not naming those countries, but obviously someone is naming the countries as we see in the headline and the last paragraph!

The United States is listed as one country not willing to take back its ‘citizens’ (probably for very good reasons!) who fled to Canada!

From Shabelle News (a Mogadishu, Somalia news outfit):

Canada's attempts to send up to 1,000 foreigners who are here illegally back to their home countries are being stymied by nations refusing to take them back, officials said Monday.

Somali ‘refugee’ Abdulahi Hasan Sharif fled to “welcoming” Canada and is one the US doesn’t want back! He is all yours Justine!  http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/edmonton-attacks-abdulahi-sharif-hasan-attempted-murder-border-crossing-united-states-1.4330527

International and domestic laws in most countries require governments to allow their own citizens entry.

"But some countries are refusing to provide travel documents to their citizens or are just outright refusing to take them back," Scott Bardsley, spokesman for Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale, told AFP.

[….]

According to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the current backlog of foreign nationals facing deportation from Canada tops 15,000.

[….]

The removal list includes rejected refugee claimants and persons deemed inadmissible because of a criminal background or because they pose a national security threat.

[….]

China, India, the United States, Nigeria, Haiti, Pakistan, Mexico, Somalia, Cuba and Jamaica are the top countries of origin on Canada's deportation list.

Go here for my Canada category.
