Kris Jenner is the momager of a media empire. She's a beloved (and feared) figure in her own right. Also, Kris Jenner is about to get so many new grandbabies.
Kris can and does absolutely speak for herself. But that doesn't mean that her family doesn't speak up for her.
But when Kim tweeted a defense of her momager after someone called Kris chubby, Kim ended up in hot water with some Twitter users.
Before we get into Kim's outrage and the various responses, let's look at how this all started:
The Daily Mail took a look at the ghost of Kris Jenner's past -- that is, of Kris before Keeping Up With The Kardashians and before Caitlyn Jenner and even before she met Robert Kardashian.
Their very first bullet point reads:
"Before she turned momager and reality TV star, Kris Jenner was a chubby-faced store clerk and a junior flight attendant."
That's ... a very loaded line. Kim Kardashian certainly thinks so.
Kim Kardashian took offense at the description of her mother's younger self.
Kim tweeted a link to the article (a surefire way to make sure that as many people read it as possible), and wrote:
"Chubby really? That's the headline? How about beautiful, youthful, stunning?!?!"
While we can understand (and applaud) a natural disposition that she be defensive of her mother, Kim's response proved to be controversial.
Would you care to guess why?
Some tweets, of course, immediately agreed with Kim that it was an outrage for her mother to be described like that.
Others took a different view, writing:
"Chubby is not a bad thing!!!"
A lot of tweets shared that sentiment, and they're absolutely right. In fact, many people lovingly describe their "chubby girlfriends," though many opt for less polarizing words like "soft."
Others pointed out that it was still fine for Kim to be unhappy.
Replying to the (correct) assertion that that "chubby" isn't a bad thing, someone tweeted:
"Yes, it isn't. But there are so many more words to describe Kris & they chose to target weight specifically rather than something else. Chubbiness is not bad :)"
"It's a term you have to be careful with. Definitely not the best term to come up with."
And another really saw eye-to-eye with Kim:
"I'd be so upset if someone described my momma like that in a headline! Go Kim!"
Ultimately, though, the people who saw Kim's tweet as relatable, the people who saw Kim's tweet as fat-shaming, and Kim herself may have all been missing the point.
The Daily Mail described Kris' younger self as chubby-faced.
While potentially inflammatory, "chubby-faced" is a description often given to photos of people when they were children. And while Kris was 22, and not a child, they may have been highlighting her youth.
But not all chubby people are okay with the word, just as not all fat people are okay with that word. And you know what? Kris' face aside, she is and was neither.
At the time in Kris' life that The Daily Mail describes, she looked -- more than anything -- like Kourtney Kardashian. Their faces are so similar that a time-traveling Kris Jenner could probably unlock Kourtney's phone.

Wendy Williams came out this morning and basically said Kylie Jenner is about to give birth to an ugly child.
As part of her daily Hot Topics segment, the irritating talk show set her mean sights on the 20-year old reality star, slamming her appearance... her impending child... AND her baby daddy.
Indeed, it was the rude trifecta!
"She's only 20," Williams said of Jenner, prior to getting up on her undeserved pedestal and adding:
"Her 20 is more like 35, because she's grown up on TV in front of us... plus she's got the mid crisis makeover already."
This, of course, is an allusion to the many rumors that Kylie has undergone plastic surgery.
Such rumors have never been verified, although Kylie did admit back in the day that she does use lip filters and that her best known body part isn't exactly all natural.
Why is this relevant right now?
Why does Williams feel a need to slam Kylie's appearance?
It's just how she always rolls. She's a pretty awful person.
From there, meanwhile, Williams actually attacked Jenner's unborn child.
More or less.
"Let me tell you something, you can do whatever you want to yourself, but the baby is still going to look like the old you," Williams said, as the audience gasped.
Did you seriously just warn a mother-to-be that her impending son or daughter will look like the less attractive version of herself?
You really do suck.
Just yesterday, Williams called out Oprah for being fat and Carrie Underwood for being a liar.
And she wasn't done this time with the Kylie pregnancy situation.
After saying mean stuff about Kylie and her kid, Wendy moved on to Jenner's baby daddy.
Without any evidence to back up her claim, Williams said that Travis Scott doesn't want to be any kind of active father to his baby.
"I don't think Travis wants to be involved with her anymore, he's doing his rock star thing, he's got money," Williams said, concluding:
"He's probably like, 'You're pregnant, figure it out. I'll pay child support from afar.'"
Williams may definitely be correct.
But what the heck, woman?!?
Why are you obsessed with wildly speculating on the very private lives of others?!?
Kylie, of course, has not come out and said a word about her pregnancy.
She's clearly in hiding, perhaps because she's ashamed of her belly bump and perhaps because she's ashamed of the pregnancy itself.
We don't know.
But that's the thing: we aren't about to randomly guess, either!
We'll just wish her the best and hope she has a healthy baby and then move on with our day.

Long before Vanderpump Rules Season 6 debuted at the beginning of December, word got out that Scheana Marie and Robert Valletta had broken up after just a few weeks of dating.
It's a strange situation for viewers, who are just now getting their first real insights into Rob's character and personality, despite the fact that he has no real ties to the cast any longer.
Of course, it sounds like if Scheana gets her way, he'll soon be welcomed back into the fold.
Yes, as you may have noticed if you caught Monday night's episode, Scheana--to borrow a phrase coined by Tom Sandoval--is a bit "Rob-sessed."
At one point, she openly discussed her desire to marry Valletta, even though they'd only been formally dating for a few months and she was still married to Mike Shay at the time.
But the clearest indication that Scheana would lay down in traffic if Rob asked her to may have been her willingness to ignore the many obvious signs that Valletta was cheating.
In the past, Scheana has harshly criticized friends of hers for being naive about their boyfriends' infidelity, but she was hearing none of it when several members of her inner circle tried to convince her that Rob had been unfaithful.
Even now that their relationship is over, both parties claim they called it off for reasons that have nothing to do with infidelity.
Scheana appeared on Watch What Happens Live Monday night, and Rob called in, seemingly for no other reason than to blame her friends for their breakup:
"The truth is, it's really hard in her circle of friends," Rob said.
"Individually, when they're by themselves, they're really great people, but you put that group of people together and they're savages. They come after you, and it's really hard to have a successful relationship with those people coming and attacking you from all sides."
"Friends say Rob is using her," an insider claimed.
Here's the thing:
Despite the fact that he's the sort of unrepentant d-bag who toasts to "falling in love with something new every day," we're actually with Rob on this one.
Scheana's friends are a pack of sociopaths, and we can't imagine any healthy relationship existing in that environment.
But that doesn't mean Rob isn't shady as hell.
These days, Valletta and Scheana are friends with benefits, and those who know the couple best say he's only maintaining ties with the SUR girl in order to help his career.
"Every single time Rob is in town, she invites him to an event with her," one insider tells Radar Online.
"They know that they are much more in-demand together than apart."
Sadly, it seems Scheana doesn't see the situation for what it is, and in fact still looks at Rob as husband material.
"Scheana would marry him in a heartbeat if he wanted to marry her," the source claims.
"But he's told her that he does not want to be tied down, and she keeps telling him that he will regret it."
Scheana, you're helping this guy's career and having no strings attached sex with him, all the while assuring him that you'll happily settle down and get married if he ever decides he wants to.
Believe us when we say you're not giving him a ton of incentive to hurry up and settle down.
Watch Vanderpump Rules online for more bad decisions and horribly unhealthy relationships.

Jazz Jennings has real problems that have nothing to do with Derick Dillard attacking her on Twitter. Besides, unlike Derick, Jazz is still on TV.
On the latest episode of I Am Jazz, she has a meeting to discuss the gender confirmation surgery that she's wanted for all of her life.
Unfortunately, she's told that she needs to lose weight first. 30 pounds, to be exact.
Back when we talked about the I Am Jazz trailer that teased this entire season, we mentioned issues that Jazz would be shown tackling.
One was dating. Jazz came out as pansexual a couple of years ago, but she hadn't actually dated a girl before, which was a huge step.
Another was her continuing activism, which has involved Jazz facing off against some serious bigots over the years.
One huge thing (also specifically addressed in the new episode) was the devastation wrought by Hurricane Irma.
But another, which really stole the show in the new episode, was that Jazz's weight gain -- though normal for a growing teenager -- could prevent her from getting bottom surgery.
A quick aside, folks, because bottom surgery is not about your butt.
So, there's top surgery -- when someone gets surgery to essentially obtain or lose their breasts.
Not all trans people end up getting top surgery, because trans people experience body dysphoria to varying degrees, and some do not experience it at all.
(Some younger trans folks, thanks to the medical miracles of hormones and puberty blockers, don't need top surgery because they were either able to grow their own breasts or avoid having them grow)
Many trans people don't get bottom surgery. It's expensive, potentially dangerous, and imperfect. And, again, gender isn't synonymous to genitals and not every trans person has a problem with their anatomy.
However, this is a procedure that Jazz Jennings has wanted for her whole life.
Now that Jazz is 17, and with the support of her parents, she could be a rare case of a trans person receiving the surgery as a minor.
The trouble is that, as she learned on this new episode, hospitals aren't going to budge about things like her body mass index.
Basically, because she's a minor, she needs to be a "perfect" case for surgery if the hospital is going to go through with it.
Jazz's surgeon, Dr. Marci Powers, puts it as delicately as she can:
"Your surgery will be very difficult in terms of what even the most experienced surgeons have encountered."
She explains why:
"Not to bring up the bad news first, but you gained in your BMI."
Most people don't like that kind of news, but for Jazz, it could be get in the way of her living her best life.
Her surgeon continues:
"If we're going to get a hospital to say, 'we're going to allow a surgery at age 17,' you're going to have to be at a lower BMI."
And there's no fudging it, unfortunately.
"Literally, they won't approve it if your BMI is one dot over. When it translates to pounds, it's about 30 pounds."
30 pounds is a lot to lose, especially when you're a growing teenager. And especially when you're as tiny as Jazz Jennings is.
Jazz speaks in the confessional, revealing:
"I'm absolutely horrified."
It probably didn't help that she was on camera, either.
"I knew that my weight was a problem, but I didn't realize that it could affect something that I've been waiting for my entire life."
Jazz tweeted about the experience as the episode aired:
"My confidence constantly wavers & some days I love my new larger figure & other days I beat myself up about it. Even though I appear so strong, I'm still human and learning to love myself undeniably."
We know that Jazz makes a lot of effort to lose weight.
And fans have noted that she appears to have lost some weight in her more recent photos. But ... will it be enough?
Perhaps only time, and subsequent episodes of I Am Jazz, will tell.

It's been a hectic 72 hours in the life of James Franco.
On Sunday night, the celebrated actor/director/artsy weirdo won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of fellow actor/director/artsy weirdo Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist.
It was inarguably one of the biggest highlights of a career filled with critical acclaim and tremendous commercial success.
Within minutes of Franco's acceptance speech, however, the 39-year-old was publicly accused of several incidents of sexual misconduct and brahypocriteoctrite for his ostensible support of the Time's Up initiative.
Actress Ally Sheedy was the first to hint at abusive behavior on Franco's part, posting a series of scathing tweets that have since been deleted.
"Why is James Franco allowed in? Said too much. Nite love ya," she began.
"James Franco just won. Please never ask me why I left the film/tv business," Sheedy wrote during Franco's acceptance speech.
At one point, she implied that actor Christian Slater was also guilty of some sort of misconduct, tweeting:
"Ok wait. Bye. James Franco and Christian Slater at a table on @goldenglobes #MeToo"
Many stated that they were not surprised by Sheedy's accusations.
Some called attention to Franco's history of sexual misconduct.
(In 2014, the actor was accused of attempting to seduce a 17-year-old girl via Instagram.)
Others tweeted about appalling firsthand experiences with Franco.
"Cute #TIMESUP pin James Franco. Remember the time you pushed my head down in a car towards your exposed penis & that other time you told my friend to come to your hotel when she was 17?" tweeted a woman named Violet Paley, adding:
"After you had already been caught doing that to a different 17 year old?"
Paley later followed up by writing:
"A couple weeks ago, James offered me & a few other girls an overdue, annoyed, convenient phone 'apology'. I don't accept, but maybe some other people's lives would be made easier if he donated all of his earnings from 'The Disaster Artist' to @RAINN01."
Franco is already experiencing preliminary fallout from the accusations, as at least one promotional event for The Disaster Artist has been canceled.
Franco appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, where he denied the allegations against him while at the same time expressing sympathy toward his accusers.
"I haven't read [the accusations.] I've heard about them," Franco said.
"The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate but I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice because they didn't have a voice for so long. So I don't want to ... shut them down in any way."
Asked about Sheedy's allegations, Franco replied:
"I have no idea what I did to Ally Sheedy. I directed her in a play Off Broadway. I had nothing but a great time with her, total respect for her. I have no idea why she was upset

Once that two-part special airs, she'll finally be able to go out in public and let people see that she's pregnant. ... Right?
Maybe not. As it turns out, Kylie is reportedly still determined to remain in seclusion until the baby's born.
Though the entire planet has known about Kylie's pregnancy since September, Kylie -- who used to dominate social media with selfies and updates on her life -- hasn't confirmed it.
Or even allowed herself to be seen -- really seen -- in ages.
At first, we wondered if it was just because she wanted to do a big reveal. We even wondered if it was some sort of revenge, if staying mum about her pregnancy was a way of getting back at her nosy fans.
One heartbreaking reports claims that Kylie Jenner cannot stop eating.
That's normal for a pregnancy, but, if it's true, it must be a nightmare for a reality star. Especially one based in Southern California who built a lot of her brand on having a desirable look.
Whatever the true cause -- and we're sure that a number of factors are involved -- reports have been claiming for a while now that Kylie Jenner plans to hide until she gives birth.
HollywoodLife reports that Kylie Jenner plans to remain in hiding ... and they describe how she reportedly plans to share her baby with the world.
"Kylie wants to keep the worst kept secret still very vague until she actually has the baby."
That much seems clear.
"She doesn't want anyone to know when she will be at the hospital and in labor, she doesn't want anyone to get the shot of the baby."
We've heard absolute nightmare situations about famous people being stalked at hospitals and even followed by helicopters.
Kylie's reason for wanting zero photos of her baby after the birth is for a much more practical reason.
"Because she would like to sell that photo and she doesn't want it to be a part of the show until the baby is actually born."
Kylie has a very specific role model in mind for how she rolls out information and media about her soon-to-be child.
"But she is going to move forward pretty much the same way how Kim has dealt with it with her children."
"Revealing things very limitedly or not at all."
Honestly, it makes sense that Kylie would follow Kim's example, here. Is Kourtney the more experienced mother? Of course.
But Kim's been having children over the past few years, at the height of Kardashian fame. Kourtney is world-famous, but she's never taken center-stage like Kim or Kylie.
HollywoodLife's source goes on to talk about how Kylie is enjoying keeping this private.
"She doesn't have many things for herself and with this being her first baby, she wants to make it as special and real as it possibly can be."
That seems to contradict her plans to sell a photo of her baby ... but whatever.
"And then make everything about her private life take the turn to public life."
So she'll, what, gradually let people know more?
"She wants to give something to herself before she gives it up to the world."
That is very sweet. But ... is it the whole truth?
We're leery of latching onto an individual report and swallowing it hook. line, and sinker. But we've heard a lot about Kylie's alleged weight gain during her pregnancy and about her apparent body image issues.
Considering her history (she wasn't always considered "hot," folks ... and Kylie went through her own transformation, not unlike Kourtney's, during her teen years and many believe that it wasn't just puberty), it's easy to believe that Kylie's freaking out about pregnancy weight, from hormones and from eating.
We hope that she's able to calm down and get some perspective by the time that the baby arrives.
And Kylie's baby is due in less than a month.

On Tuesday, the world of adult film was shaken by news that up-and-coming performer Olivia Nova had passed away at the age of 20.
Nova's body was discovered by Las Vegas police over the weekend, but news of her death did not go public until two days later, when authorities could be certain that her family had been notified.
Sadly, Nova's is the latest in a succession of adult film actresses to pass away prematurely in recent months.
In December, well-known star August Ames took her own life after being bullied online for her allegedly homophobic views.
In the weeks prior to Ames' death, performers Shyla Styles and Yurizan Beltran passed away due to
Given her youth and the recent rash of deaths it's been widely assumed that Nova's death was related to addiction or mental illness.
Now, several sources are reporting that there was no sign of foul play, and Nova's death does not appear to be the result of natural causes.
Not surprisingly, that news has led fans to conclude that Nova (real name Lexi Rose Forte) either took her own life or accidentally overdosed.
However, it may be quite some time toxicology results can begin to offer a more complete picture of the actress and model's final hours.
"Test results usually take about 6-8 weeks," an investigator involved with the case tells Radar Online.
Nova had reportedly struggled with depression throughout her life, a condition that was exacerbated in recent months by a series of personal setbacks.
In early 2017, Nova revealed on Twitter that her boyfriend had fatally overdosed on heroin (she tweeted that he'd "killed himself," leading some fans to the conclusion that she believes he intentionally took his own life).
"Rest In Peace love.... it seems like we were cuddling in bed all day with the puppy eating pizza and watching movies yesterday. Im not ready to say goodbye to you yet...." she captioned a photo of the departed beau.
That death came not long after a car crash that left Nova with serious facial injuries that left the future of her modeling career in question.
It could be months before police have any definitive answers with regard to what substances were in Nova's body at the time of her death and what may have motivated her to ingest them.
In the meantime, her family is asking for the support of Olivia's many fans, as they cope with the financial burden of planning a funeral and getting her affairs in order.
Olivia's mother, Leslie Forte, has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the cost of planning a funeral and traveling from Minnesota to Las Vegas to retrieve Olivia's beloved dog and gather her belongings.
"We are asking that friends and loved ones of Lexi rally together to support her family during this time of need, whether it be by prayer, good vibes or a monetary donation," the page reads.
"Leslie must now travel to Las Vegas to sort through and pack Lexi's belongings, retrieve Lexi's beloved dog, Rocko, and finally, bring Lexi back home to Minnesota."
The family hopes to raise $8,000 to cover expenses.
Olivia had more than 20,000 Twitter followers, whom they hope will show their support for the beloved performer one final time.
We'll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.

Kelly Clarkson is once again on the receiving end of some serious mommy-shaming.
This time, however, we can at least understand where certain critics are coming from.
Back in April of last year, Clarkson actually received flak for giving her toddler Nutella, which was simply ridiculous.
And very unfair.
On Tuesday, though, the original American Idol champion conducted a radio interview with 98.9 The Buzz in Rochester, New York and went into surprising detail about how she sometimes disciplines her kids.
"I'm not above a spanking, which people aren't necessarily into," the singer said, referring to how she occasionally interacts with her three-year old and one-year old.
Aware that there's some controversy surrounding this type of punishment, Clarkson added:
"I don't mean hitting her hard. I just mean a spanking."
The artist went on to say that she's a product of spanking herself. This is how she was raised.'
"My parents spanked me, and I did fine in life, and I feel fine about it, and I do that as well," Clarkson said, explaining:
"That's a tricky thing, when you're out in public, because then people are like, they think that's wrong or something, but I find nothing wrong with a spanking."
As you might expect, this point of view did not go over with some trolls on the Internet.
They called Clarkson out for being unnecessarily violent with her kids.
Is a discussion over spanking better than a discussion over Nutella? Absolutely.
But we still have no idea what Kelly means by this exactly, and it's very safe to assume she takes it easy on her children.
"I warn her," Clarkson said of disciplining her three-year-old daughter, River Rose, with spanking.
"I'm like, 'Hi, I'm going to spank you on your bottom if you don't stop right now, this is ridiculous,' and honestly it's really helped. She doesn't do that kind of stuff as often."
There you have it.
Granted, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that parents "do not spank or use other physical punishments" when disciplining children in a statement on their website.
This says the act "only teaches aggressive behavior, and becomes ineffective if used often."
For this reason, a few Facebook followers lashed out at Clarkson in response to her post.
"Wish she would do some research making public ignorant comments. Spanking teaches violence," wrote one individual, while another added:
"I never spanked my kids. I think it's lazy parenting."
Thankfully, others came to Clarkson's defense.
"Good for her! Glad there are still parents out there that set limits for their kids and give consequences when needed," replied one person, continuing:
"There is a difference between abuse and punishing out of love not anger. Spanking in a controlled manner and with loving correction can be a very good thing."
For whatever reason, Clarkson has often been the subject of online vitriol.
But if you dish it out, you better be able to take it.
Because Clarkson has made it clear she's not afraid of fighting back.

If you're a fan of Teen Mom 2, then you're no doubt aware of Ryan Edwards' recent struggles with addiction.
Edwards hit rock bottom before an audience of millions when he passed out while driving to his own wedding, a shocking scene that was captured by MTV cameras.
Shortly after exchanging vows with Mackenzie Standifer, Edwards checked into rehab, and he's reportedly been sober ever since.
But that doesn't mean the early months of his marriage have been entirely smooth sailing.
On this week's episode of TM2, Standifer opened up to a friend, revealing that in some ways, her life was easier when her husband was in rehab, as she knew that he couldn't get acquire drugs.
When Edwards returned home, Standifer says, the fear that he might disappear on a bender became overpowering.
"When Ryan was in rehab it was easy," she told her friend.
"I knew he couldn't get anything. He was safe. When we came home life punched us in the face. If he wanted it he could go get it. It's scary."
Mackenzie went on to reveal that Edwards' short temper has also been a constant source of stress in her marriage:
"You can be angry, but you can't talk to me like that," she said.
"This is hard for me too. I knew it would be hard, but I didn't know it would be like this. It's stress all the time. I'm so exhausted. I'm sad and depressed and angry."
Clearly in despair from the stress of a "honeymoon period" marred by the ravages of addiction, Mackenzie complained that marriage to Edwards has exacted a profound emotional toll.
"I didn't know it would be like this. It's stress all the time. I'm so exhausted. I'm sad and depressed and angry."
Needless to say, the Ryan and Mackenzie are enduring an incredibly trying time.
However, many viewers stated on social media that their fears were somewhat allayed by a touching scene in which Edwards expressed his gratitude to Standifer for essentially saving his life:
"It's disgusting I let myself go like that," he told his wife.
"It's just pathetic. I'm so glad I listened to you and got help. You've been very, very understanding. I couldn't have done this without you. Is there anything I could do to help you through this?"
Clearly, Ryan and Mackenzie have a long way in getting their marriage to a place where they're both at their happiest and healthiest.
But the good news is, it seems that they're both willing to put in the necessary work.
Watch Teen Mom 2 online to relive the many ups and downs of the Edwards' marriage.
