Obama discussed his “dad moves” during a new interview with David Letterman for the late-night talk show legend’s new Netflix project, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.

The former American president was discussing the time he found himself onstage next to none less than the legendary Prince.

“This was probably three or four months before he died,” Obama said of the moment. “Prince asked Sasha to come up and dance, and she’s an excellent dancer. Sasha pulls me up, which surprises me she always mocks my dancing.”

“I have dad moves,” he joked. “I think the key is what we call staying in the pocket,” he added, much to Letterman’s amusement. “You gotta stay in the pocket. I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket,” Obama said towards to studio audience. “They’re trying stuff they can’t really pull off. They start doing like karate kicks and all kinds of stuff.”

The 72-year-old guitar great shared the news during an interview with BBC Radio 2. Clapton was on the show to talk about his documentary, Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars.

“I am still going to work. I'm doing a few gigs. I am going to do a show at Hyde Park [British Summer Time Festival] in July,” he said. “The only thing I'm concerned with now is being in my 70s and being able to be proficient. I mean, I'm going deaf, I've got tinnitus, my hands just about work. I mean, I am hoping that people will come along and see me [for] more than [because] I am a curiosity. I know that is part of it, because it's amazing to myself that I am still here.”

Tinnitus is characterized as ” the annoying sensation of hearing sound when no external sound is present.”

Clapton has previously revealed that he deals with chronic nerve issues that hindered his guitar playing, and has said that his touring days could be soon coming to an end.

The guitar legend has a handful of U.S. dates slated for 2018, with shows scheduled in New York and Los Angeles.

Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’ Gets Snow Day Remix from Kentucky Principal

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 10:11 AM PST

By Scott T. Sterling

Mariah Carey, you have some serious competition.

Related: Mariah Carey Finally Got Her Hot Tea on New Year's Eve

Kentucky principal Chad Caddell has released an outstanding remix of Carey’s 1993 smash, “Hero,” with rewritten lyrics to announce a snow day at his school, Union Pointe Academy in Florence, Kentucky.

Caddell’s impassioned and emotional take on the Carey classic is one for the ages. Snow day announcements will never be the same. Watch it below.

"I sat down, and in 10 minutes I wrote the lyrics, and then my wife and I went on our porch, filmed it, and it was ready to go," Caddell told People of his inspired snow day announcement set to the Carey song. “Honestly, I grew up a big Mariah fan—it just gives me a flashback to that slow dance in middle school where the girl at the end told you she just wanted to be friends—but the song is slow so it would be easy to put words to."

This isn’t Caddell’s first foray into remixing classic tracks into snow day announcements. Earlier in the year, the clear front-runner for Principal of the Year gave Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” a similar treatment. The results: "Snowhemian Rhapsody."

"We live in a day where all the news is cynical and tragic and discouraging, and I think people are just hungry for something positive, and something to give them some joy," Cadell explained. "School, when I grew up, was boring, sterile and predictable, and I wanted to create a culture where people expect the unexpected. We wanted to create a place where, as teachers, we're being that adult we needed when we were kids."

“Over the past months I was genuinely excited about launching my upcoming line and collaboration with H&M,” G-Eazy shared on social media.

“Unfortunately, after seeing the disturbing image yesterday, my excitement over our global campaign quickly evaporated, and I’ve decided at this time our partnership needs to end. Whether an oblivious oversight or not, it’s truly sad and disturbing that in 2018, something so racially and culturally insensitive could pass by the eyes of so many (stylist, photographer, creative and marketing teams) and be deemed acceptable. I can’t allow for my name and brand to be associated with a company that could let this happen. I hope that this situation will serve as the wake up call that H&M and other companies need to get on track and become racially and culturally aware, as well as more diverse at every level.”

Following the wave of backlash from the ad, H&M responded by apologizing, pulling the photo and removing the product from sale.

"I, of course, okayed it with her, but that ended up being a big part of this record," Flowers told Song Exploder about the song addressing his wife’s PTSD from childhood trauma. "And so the song is from my wife's point of view, and it's from her perspective. And it's about resilience. So, she's singing to me. It's almost like this submission, it's her accepting like, 'I'm facing this thing.’"

Hacker Blasts N.W.A. Signature Tune on Repeat over Police Radio

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 06:25 AM PST

By Hayden Wright

In what investigators are describing as a “criminal nuisance,” someone in New Zealand has apparently hacked the radio frequency of a police department to repeatedly blast N.W.A.’s seminal rap hit “F— Tha Police.”

Related: Prince, Nirvana, N.W.A. & More Have Songs Added to GRAMMY Hall of Fame

In addition to playing the N.W.A. version of the song, the troublemaker also cranked the Rage Against the Machine cover of it as well, reports The Independent. Local authorities slammed the menacing act and called on the responsible party or parties to stop.

Inspector Kevin Lloyd said that the “prank” jeopardizes police operations and poses a public safety threat.

"It was putting people in danger," he told The Otago Daily Times. "There's no question that if it carries on and if they do what they're doing it will delay a response. Any interference with a police radio constitutes a risk to public safety, and anyone caught doing this can face a penalty of criminal nuisance and up to one-year imprisonment."

Kelly Clarkson Talks Parenting: ‘Wine is Necessary’

There are four children living under Kelly Clarkson’s roof, and she has a special trick for handling the chaos: wine.

Related: Kelly Clarkson on Parenting: I’m Not Above Spanking

During an appearance at the Television Critics Association on behalf of The Voice, Clarkson discussed motherhood and staying sane despite the challenges of raising kids.

"They are challenging," Clarkson said, referring to raising children. "Wine is necessary. They're great though. Out of the mouths of babes. They say stuff where you're like 'Damn.' They call you out. They teach me."

Clarkson has two children with her husband Brandon Blackstock and she’s the stepmother to two other children. The OG American Idol winner said she learns as much from her kids as they learn from her and Blackstock.

"I know it sounds silly but kids teach you to be a better human. They're watching every moment, not only me at home but me sitting here with y'all,” she said. "I hope with our two boys and our two girls that they see their parents as successful, loving and respectful people 'cause that's what we want for them."

Kelly added the best lesson she can teach her kids is to follow their dreams, wherever they lead.

"I'm going to teach my kids to do what they love, regardless if they're the most famous person doing it,” she said. “Love what you do. Love who you work with and don't work with people you don't and don't do things you don't love."

Dan + Shay Release New Single ‘Tequila’

By Robyn Collins

Country duo Dan + Shay have released their latest single, “Tequila,” and it's not about downing shots and partying the night away.

Related: Dan+Shay Get Seriously Silly Backstage

Instead, in typical Dan + Shay fashion, they flipped the script and wrote a song about heartbreak. The duo collaborated on the song with Jordan Reynolds and Nicolle Galyon.

“Tequila” is a lovelorn number with vocals that address being able to drink anything, from whiskey to champagne without a problem. But when the scent of tequila is in the air, images of being with the girl that got away flood the vocalist’s mind.

The song begins with a piano-driven intro, and the arrangement builds in emotion to an anthemic conclusion. The number is heightened by strong hooks, iconic harmonies and vivid imagery:

“When I taste tequila/ Baby I still see ya/ Cuttin’ up the floor in a sorority T-shirt/ The same one you wore when we were sky-high in Colorado/ Lips pressed against the bottle swearing on a Bible/ Baby, I’ll never leave ya’/ I remember how bad I need ya when I taste tequila.”
