Brad Paisley Paints Nashville Predators Mural at Bridgestone Arena

Brad Paisley has got moves you haven’t even seen yet.

Fans will be able to see these moves firsthand with a visit to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

The country music star has revealed a mural he’s painted for NHL franchise the Nashville Predators inside the team’s home base, Bridgestone Arena.

The mural was created in conjunction with Nashville-based artist Rob Hendon, with the pair collaborating on the massive mural that covers an entire wall.

“Well, I could always draw growing up,” Paisley explained to the professional hockey team’s official website about the piece, which includes the Predators’ primary and secondary logos that the star painted freehand after just looking at a picture of them.

“When I started doing graffiti, I did it because I had this blank wall at my farm that was about as interesting as that gray wall over there,” Paisley shared. “It was nothing and it’s right behind my studio; its where I want to be creative. I actually wrote on the wall, ‘Sorry, this wall was boring me.’ And that’s kind of what was happening here. This was the most boring wall in Nashville five hours ago.”

The mural—which includes team logos, the Nashville skyline, two guitars and an oversized catfish—is located in the elevator lobby outside of Section 109 on the building’s main concourse and can be seen by anyone making a visit to the arena.

The Predators have shared a video that chronicles the mural’s creation, with Paisley singing the praises of Hendon’s work, which he says is ubiquitous throughout Nashville.

“You walk into any of the hotels, you walk into any of the record labels, or any of the artist’s homes—myself, Keith Urban. Everybody’s got it. Little Big Town, those guys got ’em. We all have Hendon guitar paintings.”

DMX Taken Into Custody for Parole Violation and Failing Drug Test

DMX is back behind bars.

Related: DMX Pleads Guilty to $1.7 Million in Tax Evasion

The controversial rapper was taken into custody today (Jan. 30) for failing a drug test after testing positive for cocaine and opiods, a violation of his parole. DMX also failed to bring a court-ordered "mobile drug counselor" while traveling to St. Louis for a Jan. 20 performance.

Manhattan federal Judge Jed Rakoff revoked the rapper’s $500,000 bond, and did not mince words during his court address (via Page Six).

"He in effect said, 'Judge, trust me.' That was a great, big lie, a repeated lie, as it turns out," Rakoff said. "The court went to extraordinary lengths to accommodate his needs, and desires, and he in effect said, 'Screw you.’"

DMX’s defense lawyer, Murray Richman, explained that his client was on the straight and narrow until severe illness befell his youngest son, who is just one-year-old, on Jan. 16. The child had to be hospitalized for “several days” with a 104-degree temperature.

Richman added that the rapper will be forced to cancel several previously scheduled shows over the next six months.

DMX is set to be sentenced for tax evasion in March, and could face up to five years behind bars.

The Aerosmith singer’s recently launched Janie’s Fund initiative held a gala ball and GRAMMY viewing party in Los Angeles that raised $2.4 million for the abused women’s charity.

"The whole reason I'm in this is because I know what happens to a girl if she's sexually abused at 14, sent out on the street to sell crack at 15, her mother has her hook at 16, she's bringing johns home at 17 because she looks older," he told Forbes at the Red Studios in Hollywood event. "At 18 she's left off at a bus station in Oklahoma, doesn't know where she is or what's going on. She's broken. Now, she, for the rest of her life, has a problem with sex, has a problem with men coming on to her. There are men in America that murder people, they get caught with a gun in their hand they get seven f—ing years! She gets 70 years. Seventy years of her life has been ruined and that f—ing kills me. That kills me."

The event featured a live auction highlighted by Sharon Stone paying $116,000 for a Christopher Makos print of Andy Warhol kissing John Lennon and a performance from Tyler.

[WATCH] Police Officer Chases Down Suspect Going “One Horsepower”

It was certainly one unusual day on the force for a police officer in Florida.

As he was driving along, the Pasco Sheriff's deputy noticed a suspect on the run… so he called in backup and stated the runaway in question was traveling at “one horsepower.”

Eventually, they were able to safely corral the horse by directing it into a subdivision away from the dangers of rushing traffic. Uninjured, and with its owners located, the horse was finally reunited with the family.

While we’re sure this animal was just horsing around, we’re also glad the deputy was there to help it back to safety.

Fundraiser organizer Amy Smith tells CBS Philly, Mr. Gary “just goes over and beyond. He’s so kind, he’s a wonderful person, he does so much for the community.”

Mount Laurel School District Superintendent George Rafferty sent Eyewitness News a statement about his service which reads: “We were as surprised as everyone else to learn of the community effort to send Gary to the Super Bowl, but we are well aware of his connection to the students and parents of Mount Laurel. Social Savvy Teen Gets Surprise Promposal From MLB Mascot ‘Mr. Met’

Callie Quinn, a New York City teen who is obsessed with the New York Mets baseball team just got a surprise ‘promposal’ from the team’s famous mascot, Mr. Met!

The superfan tweeted at the Mets asking if she could take her school prom photos at the team’s home at Citi Field in Queens, along with one of the players and they responded with a challenge – get half a million retweets and they’ll make her dream come true.

As luck would have it, eight days later and with the help of some celebrities like Star Trek’s William Shatner, Boston’s own Donnie Wahlberg, and some emphatic MLB players, the teen reached her goal.

So, in keeping their promise, Mr. Met arrived at her high school in Staten Island this week and staged a grand surprise ‘promposal’ to formally ask her to the dance.

Callie obviously said yes, and now plans to wear a royal blue dress to match her favorite baseball team on her big day!

Simon went on to great solo stardom and has spent the decades actively touring, recording and maintaining his legacy as an influential figure in folk, rock and pop.  But now, Simon could be walking away from it all this summer with a “farewell” show in scheduled for London’s Hyde Park.

Billed as “Homeward Bound: The Farewell Performance,” the concert is set to take place July 15 with openers Bonnie Raitt and James Taylor.

No word yet on if this is indeed Simon’s last show but Simon has mulled over retirement before, calling it “an act of courage.”

“Showbiz doesn't hold any interest for me,” he said. "It's an act of courage to let go.  I am going to see what happens if I let go. Then I'm going to see, who am I? Or am I just this person that was defined by what I did? And if that's gone, if you have to make up yourself, who are you?"

Save the date for Paul Simon’s July concert — it might very well be his last.

“One Last Song” is featured on Smith’s latest album, The Thrill of It All. In the song, Smith mentions that this may be the last song he ever sings about his ex.

"Maybe one day I won't sing about you / I'll sing a song about someone new,” he croons.

Adele Dresses Like Dolly Parton, Gushes About the Singer

Posted: 30 Jan 2018 07:00 AM PST

By Annie Reuter

It’s no secret that Adele and Dolly Parton are members of a mutual admiration society. Adele is such a huge fan of the country superstar that she recently dressed up as Dolly and shared the amazing photo on social media.

Related: Adele Implores U.K. Prime Minister to Investigate Grenfell Tower Fire

Adele started with the outfit — an all-pink ensemble, complete with a boa that showcased her cleavage. Then, she completed the scene with a curly blonde wig, long red fingernails and an acoustic guitar.

“The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton!” she tweeted. “We love you! We wish we could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I’ll always love you.”

Adele’s public adoration for Parton dates back to at least 2011, when Adele praised the country singer in her concert film Adele: Live at the Royal Albert Hall. “I f—— love her,” she gushed from the stage.”

Parton’s love for Adele is equally strong. In 2016, she sang about Adele on the Pure & Simple track “Head Over High Heels”: “I painted my lips red – and my eyes like Adele.”

"I love her style, I love her voice, I love her songs, I just love the way she is,” Parton told Nash Country Daily. “Someday I would love to write something [with] her, sing something, do something, because I like her."

Sounds like a winning combination.

Pink Responds to ‘Step Up’ Comment from Recording Academy CEO

Posted: 30 Jan 2018 06:39 AM PST

By Hayden Wright

At Sunday night’s GRAMMY Awards, Alessia Cara was the sole woman to win a general (non-genre) category — Best New Artist. Ed Sheeran defeated four women to win Best Pop Solo Performance, while the night’s most nominated woman SZA went home empty-handed.

Related: Ed Sheeran's GRAMMY Win For 'Shape Of You' Fuels Gender Debate

In reaction, some have argued that the Recording Academy should take steps to recognize female artists with trophies, not just nominations.

As the debate began, Recording Academy CEO Neil Portnow told Variety that to achieve parity on Grammy night, more women need to “step up” as musicians, engineers, producers and executives. His comments were met with swift condemnation from artists, including Charlie XCX, Sheryl Crow and Pink.

“Women in music don’t need to ‘step up,'” Pink wrote on Twitter. “Women have been stepping up since the beginning of time. Stepping up, and also stepping aside … When we celebrate and honor the talent and accomplishments of women, and how much women step up every year, against all odds, we show the next generation of women and girls and boys and men what it means to be equal.”

In light of the controversy, Portnow expressed regret and clarified his comments about gender equity in the music industry.

“Last night, I was asked a question about the lack of female artist representation in certain categories of this year’s GRAMMY Awards,” he said in a statement. “Regrettably, I used two words, ‘step up,’ that, when taken out of context, do not convey my beliefs and the point I was trying to make.”

“Our industry must recognize that women who dream of careers in music face barriers that men have never faced. We must actively work to eliminate these barriers and encourage women to live their dreams and express their passion and creativity through music. We must welcome, mentor, and empower them. Our community will be richer for it. I regret that I wasn’t as articulate as I should have been in conveying this thought. I remain committed to doing everything I can to make our music community a better, safer, and more representative place for everyone.”

Millennials of a certain age remember Aaron Carter as a proto-Justin Bieber, whose teen pop hits like “Aaron’s Party (Come And Get It)” defined a moment of the Bush administration.

Despite his personal ups and downs, Aaron has been back in the studio recording his follow-up to 2002’s Another Earthquake!. The new album, LøVë, will drop February 16.

The singer has been working on the new record for over two years and Carter has a writer and producer credit on every song, including the album’s first single, “Don’t Say Goodbye.”

“For me, it’s all about the music. And if there is one lesson I’ve learned this [last] year, it’s to not dwell on the past, but to live for the future,” he said in a statement. “Don’t Say Goodbye’ encompasses everything I went through last year. Her much-anticipated return to televised singing competitions is just weeks away; next month, Clarkson will begin her stint as the newest judge on The Voice. Based on a new first look, it appears that the singing competition OG has a blast.

NBC released a brief teaser of Kelly’s appearances throughout the season, bantering with fellow judges and contestants. This season features Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and country star Blake Shelton. In the clip, contestants praised her influence on their artistry and Kelly let her competitive flag fly.

“Our family is thankful and proud to announce the arrival of our precious baby girls,” Scott captioned the photo. “They were born in the early hours of January 29th, 2018 and we can't wait to share more about them in the days to come. Thank you to everyone who prayed and prayed for these little ladies, and thank you Lord for healthy babies.”

Scott announced she was pregnant in August 2017 in a post that featured an adorable photo of her 4-year-old daughter, Eisele, beside bandmate Dave Haywood’s son, Cash, and Charles Kelley’s son, Ward. Haywood and his wife also were expecting a baby girl; she was born in December. This is the second and third child for Scott and her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell.

Smashing Pumpkins Working on New Album with Producer Rick Rubin

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has revealed that the legendary Rick Rubin will produce the upcoming Smashing Pumpkins album.

Corgan worked with Rubin on his 2017 solo album Ogilala, but the yet-untitled album will mark his first recording with the Pumpkins since the 1997 song "Let Me Give The World To You."

Corgan delivered the news in a retro-looking post that depicted a photo of him from the early ’90s — before his head resembled an eggshell — along with a sprawling caption.

"I share a window (curated as it is) into my crazy life," Corgan wrote after a long preamble. “As an example, we are currently in the studio with Rick Rubin. But unless I show you a picture of Rick sitting Buddha-like at a mixing desk, you probably wouldn't know that."

Last week, Corgan posted a photo of himself sitting next to Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. In addition, both Corgan and Chamberlin have posted a photo of the same drumkit, implying that are both taking part in the Smashing Pumpkins reunion album. Iha hasn’t yet commented on social media and is currently playing in A Perfect Circle.

As previously reported, the band’s former bassist D'Arcy Wretzky will not take part in the upcoming Smashing Pumpkins reunion. "I only just found about yesterday that the band has decided to go with a different bass player," Wretzky told the blog BlastEcho.

Corgan was the only original Pumpkin on 2014’s Monuments To An Elegy.
