Lynn Collins ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine") played 'Princess Dejah Thoris' in Disney's 3D, live-action fantasy adventure "John Carter".
According to author Burroughs, "...the sight which met my eyes was that of a slender, girlish figure, similar in every detail to the earthly women of my past life.
"Her face was oval and beautiful in the extreme, her every feature was finely chiseled and exquisite, her eyes large and lustrous and her head surmounted by a mass of coal black, waving hair, caught loosely into a strange yet becoming coiffure.
"Her skin was of a light reddish copper color, against which the crimson glow of her cheeks and the ruby of her beautifully molded lips shone with a strangely enhancing effect..."

"Hitching a ride on a cargo transport seems like a no-brainer, but these great seas in the final frontier are rife with pirates.
"Plus someone's about to learn first-hand the dangers of emotional intimacy!..."
The "Barbarella" live-action TV series pilot continues in development with a script by writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade of "Skyfall" fame.
"Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn is attached to direct. adapting creator Jean-Claude Forest's erotic sci-fi comic strip.
"I kind of went back to the original comic," said Refn "and really began to close my eyes and fantasize about women in outer space and it looked pretty good."
'Barbarella' is a young woman who travels from planet to planet and has numerous adventures, often involving sex.
The aliens she meets often seduce her, and she also experiments with a 'machine excessive' or 'orgasmatron'.
The original comic book version of 'Barbarella' was modeled on French actress Brigitte Bardot.
"Barbarella" will be produced and distributed by Gaumont International Télévision.

Take another look @ revealing images of actress Emily VanCamp aka 'Sharon Carter', a 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' agent assigned to protect 'Steve Rogers' in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier":
"I play 'Agent 13/Sharon Carter' which everyone knows, but we don't really touch on that in this film," said VanCamp.
"We're just sort of introducing her.
"When we first see her we realize she's living next to 'Captain America'...
"...they sort of have a little 'thing' going on...
"...and as we all know in the comic books they had a love affair off and on for years.
"They had a very complicated relationship.
"It's almost as if they are planting the seeds now. Sort of leaving room to go wherever they want to go with it."
"We wanted someone that 'Cap' would have an immediate interest in, " said co-director Joe Russo.
"It had to be a strong-willed person, and we felt that Emily's work on 'Revenge' was a great test tube for what this character could be.
"She's obviously very credible with physicality, she holds the screen really well, and she even looks like the character from the comic books..."

Sneak Peek images of actress Chloë Grace Moretz aka 'Hit-Girl' from the "Kick-Ass" movie series, in "Glamour" magazine:
"The way I look at it is, I'm trying to start conversations," said Moretz. "You might not agree with my opinions, and that's great—I would love to talk about it."
"With movies like 'Kick-Ass', 'Carrie' and 'Let Me In', I was able to push boundaries at a really young age. Now that I'm able to get projects funded, curate scripts, and make movies, it means a lot to me to go against gender norms. My biggest thing now is making gender-equalizing movies, where you can put a male actor or a female actor in that role, and it would work the same way.
"The word 'feminism' meant something very different when I was 13. I had four older brothers and a single mom, and we were providing for each other. It was a collective effort between men and women. So for me, it was about familial equality.
"I like to push myself as an actor and an artist, and directing, writing, producing, cinematography—all these are things that I haven't accomplished yet. They're big life hurdles that I've set out in front of me, and they're just waiting for me to take them on headfirst. So why not?..."
Meanwhile "Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar has confirmed there will be a "Kick-Ass 3".
"I love the idea of there being 'Hit-Girl' movies, " said Millar. "We have a crazy idea for it, and every now and then I think, is this too crazy?
"Because it's kind of insane. Would the world accept this?
"It makes 'Kick-Ass' look like 'Finding Nemo'.
"It's funny, because Hit-Girl was slightly pre-dated by about a year, before those kick-ass action heroine characters...
"...like 'The Hunger Games' and those kinds of things came along.
"And now I feel is a great time for her, so it could be really interesting."
The first "Kick-Ass" feature released in 2010 on a budget of $30 million, earned $100 million theatrical world-wide, selling over 1 million DVDs, scoring an additional $24 million.
"Kick-Ass 2" on a budget of $28 million, released in 2013, earned $63 million world-wide plus an additional $15 million in DVD sales.
Although those numbers are not blockbuster, there is a dedicated fan-base including director Quentin Tarantino, that supports Chloë Grace Moretz' portrayal as young female vigilante 'Hit-Girl'.
"I'd always planned it as three books and three movies," said Millar about "Kick-Ass".

Elizabeth Taylor previously played "Cleopatra" (1963).
The historical 'Cleopatra VII Philopator', believed to be the re-incarnation and embodiment of a goddess...
... was Greek-born, to become the last person to rule Egypt as a 'pharaoh'. After she died, Egypt became a Roman province.
"...her palace shimmered with onyx and gold but was richer still in political and sexual intrigue. Above all else, 'Cleopatra' was a shrewd strategist and an ingenious negotiator.
"She had children by both 'Julius Caesar' and 'Mark Antony', two of the most prominent Romans of the day. With Antony she would attempt to forge a new empire, in an alliance that spelled both their ends..."

Sneak Peek images of actress Margot Robbie, aka 'Harley Quinn' in "Suicide Squad", posing for "Wonderland" magazine, photographed by Gia Coppola:
"There's nothing I dislike more than being in a photo shoot where they say, 'Be yourself'", said Robbie. "That's not why I became an actress. That's what I find so funny: that you become an actor, and all of a sudden, everyone wants to know about you. But I didn't become an actor so I could show you 'me'...
"I say this about everything: when I was on 'Neighbours,' I said, 'These are the best years of my life!'
"When I was filming 'The Wolf Of Wall Street,' I said, 'These are the best months of my life!'
"I always think I'm having the best time ever, and that I'll never have so much fun again...
"Everyone's like, 'overnight sensation.' It's not overnight. It's years of hard work..."

Sneak Peek leaked footage of actor Tom Hardy ("Mad Max: Fury Road") on the set of director Ruben Fleischer's Columbia Pictures' feature "Venom" based on Marvel Comics' 6-issue series, "Venom: Lethal Protector" (1993), that will include a cameo by actor Tom Holland aka 'Peter Parker'/'Spider-Man':
"...in the original Marvel Comics' story, 'Venom' makes an agreement with 'Spider-Man' that they will leave each other alone...
"...on the condition that Venom commits no crimes.
"Venom then moves from New York City to San Francisco, and takes up with a group of Californian 'mole people'.
"Shortly thereafter the father of one of Venom's victims seeks him out with a group of super-powered mercenaries to take revenge. Venom then has to take on offspring of the 'Venom Symbiote, including 'Carnage'..."
'Cletus Kasady' aka 'Carnage', debuted in Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man" #344 (March 1991) followed by "The Amazing Spider-Man" #360...
...created by writer David Michelinie and illustrators Erik Larsen and Mark Bagley, based on elements of the precursor character 'Venom'.
Along with Venom, the character belongs to a race of amorphous extraterrestrials known as the 'Symbiotes'.
'Venom', aka the 'Venom Symbiote', was originally a super-villain sentient alien, debuting in Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man" #300 (May 1988)...
...before evolving into an anti-hero, requiring a host to bond with for its survival.
The first known host was 'Spider-Man', who eventually separated himself from the creature when he discovered its true nature.
The Symbiote went on to merge with other hosts.
According to the 'Marvel Universe', the creature is considered one of the greatest threats to humanity...
...alongside 'Magneto', 'Doctor Doom' and the 'Red Skull'.
The Symbiote is capable of shape-shifting, as well as the ability to expand its size and mimic the appearance of other humanoids after it has obtained a host.
The organism can additionally conceal itself by altering its coloration or by becoming invisible, while exhibiting telepathic abilities.
