Barbra Streisand Reveals That She Cloned Her Dog – Twice

Losing a beloved pet is never easy. For Barbra Streisand, however, death was just the beginning.

The vocal legend has revealed that when her 14-year-old Coton du Tulear, Samantha, passed away last year, she had her cloned—twice.

Streisand made the shocking revelation during a new wide-ranging Variety cover story, where she offered a photo posing with her puppies. In the photo, the singer is with Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett, both cloned from the late Samantha. Streisand had cells taken from the dog’s mouth and stomach before the animal passed.

"They have different personalities," Streisand says of the cloned doggies. "I'm waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her [Samantha's] brown eyes and seriousness."

The singer’s third Coton du Tulear is a distant cousin of Samantha's.

The puppies are often showcased on Streisand’s Instagram page. See a post below.

The engaging 17-minute clip follows Cabello on the singer’s rise from a karaoke-loving kid obsessed with One Direction to pop stardom.

The intimate video features priceless throwback pictures of Cabello over the years, and boasts extensive interviews with her parents, family friends, and fellow artists, including Charli XCX.

When the singer recalls her fateful trip to North Carolina to audition for The X Factor, judge Simon Cowell shows up with his own recollections of the moment, calling it “amazing.”

Cowell also makes an interesting reveal later in the clip, saying that when Cabello first approached him about leaving Fifth Harmony, he was taken aback because it happened “a year earlier” than he expected.

“But when she made her mind up, I had to respect that,” Cowell added.

Cabello followed the video release by hosting a fan Q&A on YouTube, most of which was conducted while she cuddled with an adorable new puppy. Watch it here.

Family Surprises Caregiver Mom with Brand New Mercedes-Benz

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 11:13 AM PST

By Kayla Jardine/Joe Cingrana

Family is the gift that just keeps on giving — and in Tammy Medine’s case, that gift was a brand new car!

Tammy and her husband Allen have both been taking care of their ailing mothers for a couple of years now, but according to Allen, Tammy does most of the work — bearing most of the responsibility as her brothers work time-consuming jobs.

Despite working a full-time job herself, and taking care of her family, she has never been one to complain. That’s why her younger brother Jason wanted to do something to show just how much the family appreciates her.

So he decided to buy her a brand new Mercedes-Benz!

In a blog post on Love What Matters, Allen explains: “My wife and I have been caring for her mom and my mother for a few years now. She mostly takes care of her mom who is in a home because of health issues and helps me when I need her to help with my mother, who is [in] a home for Alzheimer’s patients. It’s a very tiring job at times, holding down full-time jobs and being leaders in our church. It can really drain you. With all this, she never complains or looks for anything in return.”

Allen David Medine

The day the couple’s second grandson was born, Tammy’s youngest brother Jason told Allen his plan to buy Tammy a new car but wanted to keep it a secret until the family got together for Christmas.

“It was a real struggle for me to stay quiet about it. He sent me a picture of the Mercedes and he told me the deal he had worked out with the dealer and that he was still standing next to it. He asked me what I thought she would like — the Mercedes or a Malibu. I told him it wasn’t even a choice; it has to be the Mercedes, and if he didn’t buy it, I would!”

After making arrangements to sign the papers with the price paid in FULL, the family would have to sweat it out for the next three weeks waiting for her to get her car.

“I wanted my wife to have the best Christmas ever so I held my tongue, even though the dealership nearly ruined the surprise twice! Once they sent the license plate to the house when we asked them to hold it there at the dealership. I never check the mail, I always let her, but this day I decided to, and behold the plate! I had to hurry and hide it from her before she got home from work. Then they sent a card in the mail thanking us for our business, which she found in the mail. She asked me why they would send that and I told her we do business buying parts for the old Mercedes, so that’s probably why!”

Tammy’s reaction to the gift, which Allen posted on Facebook, shows just how much the incredible gift meant to her.

“We made it the three weeks without her expecting a thing. I think the new grandson helped distract her.”

Everyone from the bears, tigers, capybaras, ducks and more decided to explore the outdoor section of their enclosures while schools, flights, and trains have all been canceled as the storm, which is being called the “Beast from the East” has blanketed parts of Europe with close to three inches of snow.

The critters are sure to be out and about today (2/27) but unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, the zoo will not be open for visitors.

Mel B: Spice Girls to Reunite for Royal Wedding Performance

Mel B. has spoken—even if she didn’t really want to say anything.

Melanie Brown, AKA “Scary Spice,” has unexpectedly chimed in on the long-rumored Spice Girls reunion. She says that that the ladies are indeed reconvening, and for a very special occasion: the royal wedding.

Related: Victoria Beckham: No Spice Girls Tour

The singer was a guest on The Real today, where the show’s hosts pressed her on Spice Girls information until she finally popped with the big reveal.

It all started when Mel B. dished that she was on the guest list for the upcoming nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which sent the hosts into a frenzy.

She went on to share that all five members of the Spice Girls are invited to the wedding, asking herself rhetorically, “Why am I so honest?” When asked directly if the group would be performing, Mel B.’s terrible poker face gave her away.

“I’ve need to go,” Mel B. moaned as the show’s hosts screamed and danced at the news. “I’m going to be fired.”

Only time will tell if the Spice Girls will indeed reunite to perform at the royal wedding, not to mention the repercussions of Mel B.’s sudden bombshell.

In collaboration with the mental heath supporting CAST Foundation, the pop star invited five survivors—Julius Castillo, Mackenzie Marie Chapman, Samantha Megan Deitsch, Maia Hebron, Eden Hebron and Sarah Stricker—from the tragic Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School onstage.

Lovato spoke about how much she admires them for coming together as a community in a time of devastation. The audience had the opportunity to show support by texting donations to the CAST Foundation who will apply that money towards mental health resources for the students.

"Bringing CAST on Tour was very important to me because I want to be able to reach and inspire my fans. Tonight was our first night of the tour and it was incredibly special," Lovato said in a press release.

"I was able to bring out and meet a few of the students that had to experience the shooting in Florida on the 14th. It was such an honor to meet them and hear their courageous stories. I want to make sure their voices are being heard and we can provide them with the mental health and post trauma care they need.”

Highway Patrol Officers Pull Over Man On Horseback For DUI

Horsing around is always fun… unless, of course, you’re possibly under the influence.

Officers of the California Highway Patrol pulled a man over on a highway after he was allegedly caught riding his horse — drunk.

The man was arrested and given a DUI summons explaining that by law, “a person riding an animal upon a highway is subject to all of the same rights and duties as someone operating a vehicle upon a highway.”

The patrol admitted they got a chuckle out of the unique situation but added there’s nothing funny about driving under the influence.

CHP tweeted after the incident: “Don’t put yourself, your beautiful animal, or others in danger of being killed in traffic.”

AWOLNATION & Nothing But Thieves Tackle The Big Issues: Watch

AWOLNATION's Aaron Bruno and English rockers Nothing But Thieves' Conor Mason are currently out on tour together, something that should sound very kumbaya, but are they experiencing road rage?

Related: AWOLNATION Release 'Handyman' Video

There are some innocuous moments, like when Bruno reveals who, exactly, is the band's go-to "Handyman" and Mason shares what his ideal speed-dating question would be (something he's definitely not "Sorry" about).

Then things get ugly.

Don’t know where Essex is on a map? You might be team AWOLNATION. Hate vegetarian diets? You might be team Nothing But Thieves. Then again, if you want Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan’s phone number, you may be back on the AWOLNATION train.

Regardless, there's one thing we can all agree on: There IS a most desirable bunk on a tour bus—now we just need you to watch below and help us decide whether that's a "singer thing" or a "diva thing."

The Here Come The Runts Tour continues on through North America in support of the bands’ latest releases (AWOLNATION's Here Come The Runts and Nothing But Thieves' Broken Machine). And while the tour wraps June 2 in Burgettstown, PA, Nothing But Thieves branches off mid-March, playing Coachella soon thereafter.

Early Amy Winehouse Demo Song ‘My Own Way’ Surfaces Online

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 09:06 AM PST

By Scott T. Sterling

A long-lost Amy Winehouse demo recorded when the singer was just 17 years old has been shared online.

Producer Gil Cang unearthed the Winehouse artifact recorded in his London studio back in 2001.

The track, entitled “My Own Way,” was co-written by Cang and collaborator James McMillan for a demo reel Winehouse was putting together in hopes of landing a record deal.

Related: Amy Winehouse’s Family Pursuing Musical Based on Singer’s Life

"It was September 2001 and her first album hadn't come out. She hadn't signed for Island Records then," Cang recalled to Camden New Journal.

"We'd been writing quite a lot of pop tunes, doing a lot of pop promos with various artists who would come in, many of various, dubious talent,” he shared. “It was at a particularly dire time in the pop world – lots of terrible, terrible girl bands and boy bands and we had to make something for them. Amy came in to see us, opened her mouth and just blew us all away. We were struck immediately by her talent – it was a real jaw on the floor moment. We were like wow, yes.”

The producer remembered that Winehouse showed up wearing a pair of jeans with “Sinatra Is God” written in black marker across the back.

"When we first spoke, she liked the same sort of thing as us – we chatted about reggae, ska, ’60s female groups,” Cang said. “When you record with someone for a day or two you have to get the right sound very quickly and Amy knew what we wanted. I always think how I would have loved to produce more of her music – she was properly amazing to work with."

In regards to the “My Own Way” track, Cang said it was simply time to share it with the world.

"I've had it knocking about for so long. I found it again last week and thought – I'll put it out there so people could hear it."

Listen to Amy Winehouse’s demo of “My Own Way” below.

Less than 24-hours after tearing the meniscus in his knee, the NBA all-star player made good on his promise to meet Matthew Long, a superfan whose wish was to meet the Minnesota Timberwolves player in person.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation made that dream a reality for the 14-year-old who has a rare condition where his body is unable to produce enough red blood cells.

Butler was a class-act the entire day and didn’t let any disappointment show on his face, although only hours before the meeting he found out that his injury could potentially cause him to end the 2018 season early.

The two chatted about football, Matthew received a signed jersey, shoes, and as a bonus even got to see the Timberwolves win.

Fallon used the opportunity to play the “Google Translates Songs” game, which pitted Clarkson against Google Translate’s dubious translation of her 2011 hit, “Stronger.”

The host kicked off the segment by tackling the Google Translate version of Portugal. the Man’s “Feel it Still,” which Google Translate turns into “Live in the Boat.”

Clarkson stepped up to attempt Google Translate’s take on “Stronger,” which translates into “Too Strong.”

Despite nonsensical lyrics including “My legs are increasing” and “Don’t dodge my kid because I am crazy,” the singer was able to tackle the tune admirably.

Fallon and Clarkson teamed up for one last Google Translate tune, sharing a duet on Sonny and Cher’s classic “I Got You Babe,” translated into “I Have Your Child.”

Sean conceived the tour as a bridge between his old material and his new direction, in celebration of 10 years in the game.

"Before I step into this new chapter of music, I was really sitting and reflecting on the past ten years and all we've accomplished," Sean said on February 7. "So with the platform I have now, I thought it would be perfect to revisit a lot of the old music as well as the new classics on my next tour.”

Unfortunately for fans, the old music and new classics will have to wait.

Vic Mensa Slams Proposal to Arm Teachers, Supports AR-15 Ban

In the wake of the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, some politicians (including President Donald Trump) have suggested that teachers should come to their classrooms armed. Rapper Vic Mensa has shot down the idea and called Trump’s suggestion “absolutely asinine.”

“It’s so backwards—Anybody saying that clearly has never been to a public school,” Vic told TMZ. “It’s all just a diversion from big money lobbyists with the NRA. Point blank, it’s not a real logical solution… it’s not even an idea. It’s just a distraction so people can keep making money off these kids getting killed.”

Mensa added that while his hometown of Chicago has faced high crime and gun violence statistics, the city has not contended with major school shootings. Mensa himself is serving probation for carrying a concealed weapon in California. Nevertheless, the gun owner says no one “needs” a high-capacity assault rifle.

“Point blank, you gotta ban AR-15s,” he said. “You don’t need an AR-15 to kill a deer, you just don’t. It’s being made a much more complicated issue than it really is. It’s not complicated. America is built off of blood and greed and that’s the way it’s always been. Does that mean that’s the way it always has to be? No. I say that as a legal gun owner who is also fighting a gun case in California.”

Based on the Lisa Bloom book Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice, the six-part series sheds light on the shooting death of 17-year-old Martin, who was killed by a member of a neighborhood watch group, George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida in 2012.

The tragic event helped launch the Black Lives Matter movement and the rage and frustration of the incident is showcased in the stirring promo clip.

The phrases, “He was just a kid,” “I don’t want this to be swept under the rug” and “They say time heals all wounds. It does not,” appear in the 25-second trailer.

JAY-Z has helped support the late teenager’s family. Earlier this month, he attended a peace walk in memory of Martin.

Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story premieres in July on the Paramount Network. Watch the trailer below:

In a video uploaded to Twitter, two Lana fans perform “Cherry” from her album Lust For Life and midway through, the real Lana Del Rey joins them onstage.

The trio even launch into choreography from Lana’s Lust For Life tour, proving that the fans know her work inside and out. They don’t appear the least bit intimidated by the surprise collaboration with the idol, either. They look like they were having way too much fun for that. On Twitter, Lana explained why she joined her fans.

“If you're at my karaoke bar and you know my Choreo I will probably sing with you,” she wrote.

The karaoke adventure was just one event in of Lana’s busy weekend: She also entered the studio with Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff and Marina Diamandis from Marina and the Diamonds.

The group posted the news on Twitter and confirmed the title of the record is Love Is Dead.

Chvrches vocalist Lauren Mayberry recently said she wanted the new album to be more immediate and from the heart. “[We wanted everything to be really honest," she told NME. “If it's going to be more pop it should be more aggressively pop – there's no doing things in half measures.”

“It was nice to not be second-guessing ourselves,” she added. “It's still consistent with what we've done before but it feels like it'll be more of a live experience.”

There is still no release date for the album.
