Prince’s Family Denied Investigative Death Data by Attorney’s Office

Posted: 09 Feb 2018 03:05 PM PST

By Scott T. Sterling

There is a messy battle brewing between Prince’s family and the Carver County attorney’s office in Minnesota.

The office is objecting to a motion by Prince’s family in Carver County District Court seeking an order that would compel the release of all law enforcement and medical examiner information related to the death of the legendary musician (via Chanhassen Villager).

The reason for the denial: the information is part of an ongoing criminal investigation surrounding Prince’s death.

"First, because the law enforcement data collected by the Carver County Sheriff's Office remains under active investigation, the data is classified by law as confidential data. This confidential law enforcement data remains confidential until the Carver County Attorney makes the decision to charge or decline any criminal charge," the office said via a press statement.

Once the investigation is closed, the office added, the information may be released. Otherwise, it could possibly impeded the ongoing investigation.

Cam has found herself mixed up with a no-good cheating man, and now she’s calling him out to his unsuspecting wife, Diane.

That’s the plot of Cam’s colorful new video for “Diane,” the first single from Cam’s upcoming sophomore album, which is due this year.

The clip’s retro ’70s vibe is an ideal visual for the jaunty tune’s infectious energy and candy-coated chorus.

"It's the apology so many spouses deserve, but never get,” Cam said of the song in a press statement. “The other woman is coming forward to break the news to the wife about an affair, respecting her enough to have that hard conversation, once she realized he was married.  And in true country fashion, I've set the whole raw story to upbeat music, so you can dance while you process it all."

Directed by Daniel Carberry, the “Diane” video is a strong introduction to the next era of Cam. Watch it below.

Couple Who Found Love Taco Bell Return To Celebrate 30th Anniversary

This may be the cheesiest photo shoot ever — and it’s absolutely perfect.

taco bell photoshoot thumb Couple Who Found Love Taco Bell Return To Celebrate 30th AnniversaryKaren Bell met her future husband Donnie in the parking lot of a Texas taco bell, and the two instantly hit it off.

After 30 years of marriage, they found out the fast food chain where they met was going to be torn down, so they decided to capture some yummy memories.

In a blog post on Love What Matters, Karen explains how they first met: “It all started when a girl met a boy in the parking lot of Taco Bell over 30 years ago. Cruising Center Street in Deer Park was what we did for fun back then — we would stop at the Taco Bell parking lot to talk to cute guys. Well I married that cute guy, Donnie, nine months later.”

“Every time we would pass that Taco Bell we would always say, 'Awe, that's our Taco Bell,’ Karen explains about the sentimentality of the location. “Our two sons always laughed at us.” 29-years-later the couple were devastated upon finding out the location was to be torn down but were elated when they heard it would be rebuilt.

“I told Donnie, ‘For our 30th anniversary, we need to do a photo shoot there to celebrate at the place our love story began,'” and that’s exactly what they did.

While some might have been embarrassed to take photos in a Taco Bell, Karen shrugged off onlookers. After beating ovarian cancer in 2014, she learned to treasure every day, especially those filled with cheesy love and cheesy tacos.

Watch: Bob Dylan Documentary Explores Controversial Gospel Years

Posted: 09 Feb 2018 01:10 PM PST

Bob Dylan is the ultimate shape-shifting rock icon, and his reinventions have sometimes rubbed fans the wrong way. In 1965 he ditched acoustic arrangements in favor of the new “electric Dylan” sound, which alienated folk audiences. A forthcoming new documentary explores his late-70s pivot to gospel music, another turn that left many of his fans unimpressed (at first).

Entitled Trouble No More, the film traces Dylan’s conversion to Christianity and subsequent tour, based on the Slow Train Coming album.

The tour (which ran from November 1979 until May 1980) featured gospel backup singers, devotional music and plenty of biblical references—a sharp turn from the agnostic spirit of 60s counterculture. On the tour, fans walked out of live shows and dissed Dylan to the press.

Adding to the narrative of the piece, Trouble No More also features actor Michael Shannon delivering “sermons” as a character called “The Preacher”

Trouble no more debuts on Cinemax on February 26. Watch the trailer here:

Borland made the big reveal on Instagram, sharing a video of Barker laying down a funky beat in a recording studio. Watch it below.

“Doing drums with the man himself Travis Barker on a yet to be titled new project!,” Borland captioned the post.

The guitarist went on to share that Barker’s contribution is more substantial than just one track.

“My gal came to visit me after being locked away at The Village for 2 days. Wrote 7 songs in 12 hours. That’s a new record,” Borland revealed on a separate post. “More drums from Travis Barker to come.” See the post below.

The “Fergalicious” singer addressed the incident that occurred on the Planet Terror movie and captured in behind-the-scenes bonus footage found on the DVD release of the Grindhouse double-feature that also contains the movie Death Proof.

With the resurfaced footage making the rounds in light of actress Uma Thurman’s recent accusations against Tarantino, Fergie made a point of setting the record straight at the wrap party for FOX singing competition show, The Four.

“First off, I stand with victims everywhere no matter what genre, race, gender, age. I stand with victims period, and I don’t want to take away from anyone’s story,” Fergie explained to ET. “That just wasn’t my story.”

The singer urged that the incident not be taken out of context, and that there was nothing malicious behind Tarantino’s on-set actions.

“We were just kind of having banter. We were having a little bit of fun,” she detailed. “But make no mistake, I don’t want to take away from anyone’s story, and I stand with every victim and everyone’s story everywhere.”

Cardi B. is loud, brash unapologetic and the breakout star of 2017 making waves in the new year. She’s also a staunch feminist.

The rapper opened up about her feminist beliefs in a new interview with i-D, recalling her own rags to riches success story and winning against all odds.

"Being a feminist is such a great thing and some people feel like someone like me can't be as great as that. But then some people are smart but they don't have no common sense," Cardi B. said.

"They think feminism is great and only a woman that can speak properly, that has a degree, who is a boss, a businessperson… they think only Michelle Obama can be a feminist. But being a feminist is real simple; it's that a woman can do things the same as a man. I'm equal to a (man),” the rapper added.

“Anything a man can do, I can do. I can finesse, I can hustle. We have the same freedom. I was top of the charts. I'm a woman and I did that. I do feel equal to a man."

Taylor Swift & Ed Sheeran Share ‘Endgame’ Behind-the-Scenes Video

Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran have the rapport of an old married couple.

The pop star super-friends put that connection on full display in a new behind-the-scenes video captured during the making of Swift’s “Endgame” video, on which Sheeran is featured.

The clip opens with the scene that Swift teased earlier in the week, as she pokes fun at Sheeran’s height and accuses him of “peacocking.”

The pair discuss the making of the track, with Sheeran revealing that he came up with his part in a dream, much to Swift’s deadpan amusement.

Swift jokes about Sheeran bringing his “cadenced rhythmic thing” rap style to the track, something she says he hasn’t done since the first album.

They go on to break down his lyrics for the track, with Swift imitating Sheeran’s English accent as he explains how the “Fourth of July” reference is in regards to how he connected with his fiancée, Cherry, at Swift’s 4th of July party.

Later on the video, Swift shouts out the extras on the set, explaining how they make it look like they’re at a raucous party while actually dancing to just a click track.

After Future makes a quick cameo, Swift ends the clip by sharing the pun-tastic sign she made for Sheeran and his fiancée for their first anniversary. It’s too good to give up, so watch the very entertaining video below and reveal in the majesty of Taylor Swift’s exemplary pun skills.

Tongan Flagbearer Goes Shirtless, Again, At 2018 Winter Olympics

By Rebecca Zamer/Joe Cingrana

To the delight of many, Tongan flagbearer Pita Taufatofua walked shirtless once again despite the frigid temperatures at the Pyeongchang Olympics opening ceremony.

The Olympic taekwondo competitor gained worldwide attention due to his dramatic walk and chiseled physique during the 2016 Rio de Janiero Olympics opening ceremony. This year he braved the below-freezing temperatures glistening in oil as well as wearing sandals and the traditional Tongan ceremonial dress.

During Rio in 2016 – pita competed in taekwondo and lost in the first round – the Olympics inspired him to quit his job as a social worker and begin training as a cross-country skier.

The 34-year-old traveled extensively in order to qualify for the 2018 Olympics and had to practice on roller skis due to the warm climate in Australia.

The young New England Patriots fan became a viral sensation known as “Selfie Kid,” spawning memes and jokes on social media. Did he know who Justin Timberlake was? How was his iPhone battery doing? Ellen Degeneres invited McKenna on her talk show to discuss the indelible moment — and Justin Timberlake popped in for a surprise.

During the interview, Timberlake appeared via video and gave Ryan a great gift.

“Do you have anything at all for him, Justin?” Ellen asked.

“I’ll tell you what I want to do. Because it was so unexpected that you came down and because all of this has happened, I thought to myself, ‘I really want to meet you properly,'” Timberlake said. “I’m going to be coming to TD Garden on tour to play in Boston, so I would like to invite you and your family to come and I want to meet you.”

McKenna was overwhelmed by the gesture and said: “Thank you so much! Oh my god!”

Since he departed The Tonight Show in 2014, Jay Leno has kept himself occupied with Jay Leno’s Garage which spotlights the comedian’s true passion: his car collection.

In a preview of the series’ fourth season, Leno gets behind the wheel with the Sex Pistols’ John Lydon (a.k.a Johnny Rotten). The big catch is that Johnny has never driven a car and doesn’t know the first thing about driving. Oh, and he’s “half blind.”

“I tell you, I got no eyes. I’m half blind so I can’t see or read what any of these things say or mean. Is that helpful?” the punk icon asks.

Lydon appears perplexed by simple mechanics like the “gas pedal” and “brake,” but Leno coaches him through the fundamentals of operating a fast car.

“I never truly understood the value of a seatbelt until this very moment,” Leno quips.

Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig & James Corden Come Together for ‘Pete Rabbit’ Track

Late-night funnyman (and Tony-winning musical theater actor) James Corden stars in the new movie Peter Rabbit and sings a song written by Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig on the soundtrack.

Koenig wrote “I Promise You,” a lighthearted pop-rock track with an arrangement and meter vaguely reminiscent of… Vampire Weekend. Still, Corden brings his marquee charisma to the indie-inflected tune.

Lyrically, the song urges listeners to cheer up in the face of adversity: “Life’s rough when you feel confused/ Still rough when you hear the news that/ each day gotta pick and choose…/ No hate, no fear could ever keep us down / We’ll stick together.”

Peter Rabbit also stars Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, Margot Robbie and Daisy Ridley. Adapted from the beloved Beatrix Potter books, the movie follows an animated Peter Rabbit and his live-action pals.

Diddy Explains the ‘Diddy Crop’ that Deleted French Montana & Fabolous

Posted: 09 Feb 2018 06:09 AM PST

By Hayden Wright

Diddy’s social circle is so vast and diverse that all his friends and associates couldn’t possibly fit in the frame of a single photo. At least, that’s a generous reading of the “Diddy Crop,” a social media power move that has cut Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and others out of photos on his Instagram feed.

Related: Diddy Bummed that Nobody Knew He Performed at 2004 Super Bowl

Recently he shared an image on Instagram which seemed to edit French Montana and Fabolous out of a shot with Diddy, Kendrick Lamar and JAY-Z.

“3 Kings! 3 GREAT FRIENDS! Love you guys. #BlackGreatness,” he captioned the photo. “5 Kings! 5 GREAT FRIENDS!” was not the caption Diddy had in mind, so two had to get the chop — or, rather, the crop.

During an appearance on Ellen, Diddy blamed his photography editor for the shady mix-up.

“Sometimes my photography editor, he doesn’t let me know when he’s taking people out of the pictures,” he said. “There were people that were taken away that didn’t deserve to be taken away.”

Diddy added that some of the missing artists haven’t spoken to him in weeks. Will French Montana and Fabolous get an apologetic bottle of Ciroc in the mail?

Drake Stars in New Song and Video by BlocBoy JB: Watch

Drake isn’t just in Miami, shooting videos and making charitable contributions throughout the city… he’s everywhere.

The Toronto-based rapper just popped up on a new song and video by Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB called “Look Alive”; BlocBoy is signed to Drake’s label OVO Sound and to make sure his new number impacts, Drake plays a major role.

Drizzy raps for the first half of the song before BlocBoy takes over with a rapid-fire delivery redolent of a less husky, more sedated Busta Rhymes. Near the end, Drake comes back in to deliver more effortless lines.

The video for the track was produced by Tay Keith and features bird’s-eye shots of the city and scenes of the performers rapping and dancing with their crew on a basketball court and outside in the streets. During the lyrically explicit clip, they flip the bird, rifle through a deck of bills and watch a basketball game from the nosebleeds.

Recently, Drake shared two of his own new songs, “Diplomatic Immunity” and “God’s Plan,” the latter of which brought him to Miami to film a video at a public high school.

While he was there, he gave the school $25,000 for new uniforms, then he dropped by a city supermarket and bought groceries for everyone in the store. He also stopped at a homeless shelter for mothers and children and delivered a $50,000 donation as well as presents for the kids and Target gift cards for the women in the shelter.

Watch Drake in BlocBoy JB’s lyrically explicit video for “Look Alive”  below.
