President Donald J. Trump sent out a trio of tweets Sunday, apparently very unhappy about the “flow” of illegal immigrants coming across the United States border from Mexico.
Earlier, Trump tweeted about "ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws" that prevent Border Patrol agents from doing their jobs. He said Republicans need to get tough laws in place, and ended his message with an all-caps declaration: "NO MORE DACA DEAL!"
In the next tweet, Trump wrote: Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL!
In another, the president wrote: These big flows of people are all trying to take advantage of DACA. They want in on the act!
According to reports, an "army" of Central Americans estimated to be at about 1,500 people is currently on a journey through Mexico towards the U.S. border, intending to request asylum when they arrive.
The migrants are marching under the motto, "We are all Americans by birth," and claim they are fleeing their countries because of the "poverty and violence of organized crime."

A Sarasota, Florida homeowner got a big surprise Friday night. An 11-foot alligator had found its way into their pool.
The resident’s contacted Sarasota County sheriff’s deputies, and a gator trapper was also contacted to remove the animal.
KPTV reports: A trapper was called in to safely corral the reptile and remove it from the home. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office posted video and photos of the wild animal encounter to its Facebook page.
Acording to reports, the gator didn’t want to leave the pool, however, after a short struggle, it gave up and was taken away quietly.

President Donald J. Trump tweeted a message about the border between the United States and Mexico on Sunday morning, calling out “ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws” that prevent Border Patrol agents from doing their jobs and saying the problems at the border are intensifying.
Trump said Republicans need to get tough laws in place, and he once again suggested that lawmakers use the “nuclear option,” a procedure that allows the Senate to override the 60-vote rule to close debate, switching to a simple majority of 51 votes rather than a two-thirds supermajority typically required to amend rules.
Trump also ended his message with an all-caps declaration: “NO MORE DACA DEAL!”
Trump tweeted: Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. "Caravans" coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL!

On Saturday, the office of Democratic Rep. Elizabeth Esty (Conn.) said the congresswoman won’t be resigning following a sexual harassment scandal within her office.
The Associated Press reports: The cries for embattled U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty to step down for not protecting female staffers who said they experienced violence, death threats and sexual harassment by her former chief of staff intensified on Saturday, with fellow Democrats saying the allegations were shocking and she needed to "do the right thing."
Esty, an outspoken advocate for the #MeToo movement, was put in the awkward position of having to apologize for not protecting the staffers in her Washington office. But she has repeatedly dismissed calls for her to resign, and on Saturday her office said she was standing by her statement from a day earlier: She's not leaving.
Among those suggesting Esty leave office are former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz, Senate President Pro Tempore Martin M. Looney, State Sens. Mae Flexer and Cathy Osten, the House Republicans' campaign arm, and The Hartford Courant.
Etsy said she regrets not pushing an internal investigation forward and apologized for her inaction, saying she said she was "horrified and angry" to learn of the allegations against her former chief of staff Tony Baker.

Seeming to miss the significance of a Christian holiday, NBC News host Chuck Todd said Good Friday is a great day for us to be reminded that our own selfless behavior can really make a difference in the world.
The Daily Caller reports: Good Friday is celebrated by Christians as the day Jesus was crucified and paid the ultimate sacrifice to save humanity from its sins.
According to Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
In a Friday tweet, Todd suggested that Good Friday is not a wholly religious day, referring to the crucifixion as the "religious aspect of the day."
Todd tweeted: I'm a bit hokey when it comes to "Good Friday." I don't mean disrespect to the religious aspect of the day, but I love the idea of reminding folks that any day can become "good," all it takes is a little selflessness on our own part. Works EVERY time.
Twitter users were quick to point out that Todd's tweet was insensitive, as it seemed to trivialize an very important aspect of the Christian faith. See Todd’s tweet and some examples of negative evaluations below.

Michael Flynn Jr., the son of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, slammed David Hogg, one of the Parkland shooting student survivors that organized the March For Our Lives protest rally. Flynn Jr. suggested perhaps Hogg wasn’t punished enough when he was a “kid.”
In the tweet (see below), Flynn Jr. wrote: “Someone (hint: parents) clearly didn't smack this kid much growing up. Your emotional high will run out soon so savor it while it lasts…. ”
Flynn Jr. was tweeting in response to a tweet from Hogg (see below).
The Hill reports: His tweet came in response to Hogg rejecting an apology for a critical tweet Fox News host Laura Ingraham posted about his college prospects. Hogg has become a vocal advocate for gun control since the deadly shooting at his high school in Parkland, Fla.
Ingraham last week posted a tweet critical of Hogg and shared a Daily Wire story saying that Hogg was rejected from four colleges he had applied to.
Hogg responded, asking who Ingraham’s biggest advertisers were. He then tweeted out a list of her advertisers and called for people to contact those companies.
Multiple companies that advertised during Ingraham’s Fox News program have since announced they would pull their ads.
Ingraham later apologized, saying she was sorry for “any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.”
Hogg rejected her apology last week, saying he would only accept it if she denounced the way her network has “treated my friends and I in this fight.”
After posting his initial reply, Flynn Jr. reacted to angry responses from other Twitter users: “Lot of libs triggered by this comment. If smacking your kid when he gets out of line/mouths off is ‘troublesome’ for you, you're one of the main reasons our kids (in the US) are #22 in the world in education. Called LACK OF DISCIPLINE.”
Both the Sr. and Jr.Flynn’s are under investigation as part of the ongoing probe into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
At least 16 corporations have pulled their advertising from "The Ingraham Angle," including Bayer AG who announced their decision in a Twitter post on Saturday.
See the initial tweet from Hogg below, as well as Flyn Jr’s responses and a few examples of criticism for Flynn Jr’s remarks.

Kevin Carwile, head of the federal Department of Justice's death penalty unit, was demoted and detailed to a different division after The New York Times asked questions about reports of sexism and favoritism in his section.
The death penalty unit assists the Attorney General in considering cases for capital punishment. Carwile began leading the unit in 2010, but there have been at least 12 investigations into his workplace behavior.
The New York Post reports: Current and former employees filed multiple grievances against Carwile and a deputy for promoting a "sexualized environment" and for a pattern of biased assignments that disadvantaged female subordinates, the New York Times reported Saturday.
In one case, employees alleged, Carwile stood idly by as the deputy, Gwynn Kinsey, groped a low-level assistant against her will — and then instructed employees who witnessed the abuse not to speak about it.
The complaints against him began in 2013 and continued through last year.
The Times reports that employees complained about issues in the unit to Justice Department officials, the inspector general, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission at least a dozen times.
"Some allegations went unaddressed for years. In cases that were investigated, the accusers were never told what investigators found," the Times report said.
Six employees said they left the section in part because of the "toxic climate" Carwile created, including gender bias and mishandled cases.

From The Hill: Trump frequently visits his Mar-a-Lago estate, where he often spends time golfing over the weekends.
The president was in Florida this weekend. He reportedly dined with Fox News personality Sean Hannity at his resort.

A woman protesting last month’s fatal police shooting of Stephon Clark appeared to be hit by a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department vehicle Saturday evening that drove away from the scene.
The woman was in stable condition after being taken to a hospital for treatment.
An officer inside the police vehicle is heard shouting at the protesters through a loudspeaker to "back away from the vehicle," before it allegedly struck the woman around 9 p.m. local time.
Video footage posted by Fox 40 Sacramento captured the tense scene leading up to the collision. As a police SUV lurches through a hostile crowd, a sign-carrying woman crosses in front of the vehicle motioning for the driver to stop. The SUV then accelerates and hits the woman who falls to the ground. Screams are heard in the wake of the collision.

The tables have turned on issues regarding two Parkland, Florida high school students who are on opposite sides of the aisle over the school shooting and gun control issues.
Liberal activist student David Hogg responded in an uproar when conservative news anchor Laura Ingraham accused him of “whining” because he was rejected by four colleges. Hogg accused Ingraham of being a bully, and has retaliated by convincing at least 16 advertisers to drop her show.
Now, conservative Parkland student Kyle Kashuv has been mocked by a liberal Canadian government official, for canceling his Hulu subscription, since the company pulled its ads from Ingraham’s show.
Kashuv tweeted Saturday, “Just canceled my @hulu subscription. I encourage everyone to do the same until they reinstate @IngrahamAngle. It’s baffling how Fortune 500 companies allowed themselves to be bullied by a teenager.”
Max Fawcett, a government official from Alberta, Canada, tweeted in response, “Cuckservatives are the best. So fragile!”
The Daily Wire observed:
“Fawcett’s initial response was to claim that he didn’t know that Kyle Kashuv was a Parkland student, tweeting: “Okay — didn’t realize that was a Parkland student. He’s welcome to boycott any darn thing he likes.”
A review of Fawcett’s twitter account shows that he does, in fact, know who Kashuv is because he has retweeted tweets from other accounts that attacked him and listed he was a Parkland survivor.
So far, there is no massive uproar calling for everyone to stop doing business with the Canadian government.
However, Fawcett did take his Twitter account private, and blocked Kashuv from seeing his account.
Conservative Twitter users have noted the irony of the situation, and are blasting Fawcett for mocking Kashuv.

The count of corporations pulling their advertising from “The Ingraham Angle” is now up to 16, after Bayer AG announced in a Twitter post Saturday that they have “stopped advertising on Laura Ingraham and we have no plans to resume any time in the future.”
The announcement came in response to a Twitter post by Jon Cooper, Chairman of the Democratic Coalition, former Finance Chair of Draft for Joe Biden, and a campaign chair for former President Obama.
Cooper has jumped on the bandwagon with Parkland student activist David Hogg, calling for people to put pressure on companies to drop Ingraham’s show. He tweeted on Friday, “With @LibertyMutual’s wise decision to stop running ads on @IngrahamAngle’s Fox News show, here’s a list of her remaining top advertisers. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, #Resistance!”
Bayer responded, confirming they have pulled their ads as well.
The list of companies reported to be pulling their ads from Ingraham's show now include the following:
Several conservative Twitter users slammed back, informing Bayer that they would no longer be using their products in the future.

Faith Linthicum, a nurse who worked in labor and delivery at Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center, just north of Sacramento, has been fired from her job over a remark she made about the death of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man killed by Sacramento policemen on March 18.
Linthicum wrote a comment about Clark’s death on Facebook, "Yeah but he was running from the police jumping over fences and breaking in peoples houses… why run??!!! He deserved it for being stupid."
Local activist Christina Arechiga saw the comment and posted a screenshot on her Facebook page last Friday, March 23, expressing her outrage. “I gave birth at Kaiser in Sacramento, it was a horrifying experience plagued with racist nurses and doctors. Kaiser Roseville Women And Children’s must do something about these racists once they out themselves. How can we trust our lives, the lives of our black and brown babies to these people? Nurses are supposed to help people not be happy when people die. Please call Kaiser and demand this woman be removed from service! If you have a problem with black and brown people you will not work in our community!”
The Sacramento Bee reported that the hospital has now fired Linthicum.
Late Thursday evening, the company provided this statement: “Kaiser Permanente does not tolerate hate or discrimination and has a long history of embracing diversity and inclusion – it remains a place where we welcome everyone. We want to emphasize that the comments expressed by this employee, who is no longer with the organization, do not in any way reflect Kaiser Permanente's views or actions.”
Arechiga posted another statement on the matter Saturday, confirming the reason she reported the nurse was “because of black and brown children and families.”
Dear white people and colonized people of color: THIS ISN’T ABOUT YOU! The reason I reported nurse Lithincum is because of black and brown children and families. Period. We have a right to feel safe in our healthcare. Period. Black & brown dollars talk. Period. THE END

The death of a liberal judge this week, who has ruled against President Trump on multiple occasions, has now created an opportunity for the president to overhaul the liberal leaning, San Francisco-based 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, with seven seats now open.
Judge Stephen Reinhardt, 87, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Thursday while at a dermatologist’s office.
Reinhardt was appointed by former President Jimmy Carter, and was dubbed the “liberal lion” of the federal circuit courts, often ruling in favor of criminal defendants, minorities and immigrants.
The LA Times noted:
Reinhardt joined another judge in ruling that the words “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance were unconstitutional, a decision that was later overturned.
He wrote a ruling that said laws prohibiting physician-assisted suicide were unconstitutional and another that overturned California’s previous ban on same-sex marriage.
The Hill reported on Reinhardt’s rulings against the Trump administration:
Reinhardt also came into conflict with the Trump administration in recent months, declaring last year that young undocumented immigrants who are unaccompanied have the right to periodic bond hearings as well as a separate decision calling an order to deport a Mexican man “inhumane.”
"It is difficult to see how the government's decision to expel him is consistent with the President's promise of an immigration system with 'a lot of heart,' " the liberal justice wrote last year. "I find no such compassion in the government's choice to deport Magana Ortiz."
Reinhardt’s death creates another opening on the judiciary for the Trump administration, which has pushed to fill a number of judicial vacancies that began during the previous administration as the GOP-led Senate refused to confirm Obama nominees.

Parkland high school student and gun control activist David Hogg is doubling down on his attack against Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham, calling her a “bully” in a CNN interview Saturday morning.
Hogg lamented this week that he had been rejected by four colleges in California, to which Ingraham tweeted that he “whined” about it. That one mocking word caused Hogg to erupt in outrage, asking his followers to boycott every company who advertised on Ingraham’s show. So far, 15 corporations have responded by pulling their ads.
Ingraham issued an apology, but Hogg wouldn’t accept it. Now the popular Fox anchor has announced she will be on vacation all next week, while Hogg doubled down, telling CNN on Saturday that Ingraham is a “bully” and said he’s glad to see corporate America standing with him.
"A bully is a bully and it's important to stand up to them," Hogg said, adding, "She told Lebron James to shut up and dribble. I don't see any apology for those people. It's sad, it's disturbing to know that somebody can bully so many people and just get away with it, especially to the level she did. I think now with advertisers standing with us, we can accomplish anything.”

Muslim groups were outraged by an image posted on LinkedIn by David Jennings, head of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in San Francisco, which depicts three folded-up patio umbrellas.
At first glance, the image appears to be three individuals wearing burqas. Along with the image, Jennings quipped, “I spent 30 minutes talking to them to learn more about their culture until the barman told me they were umbrellas.”
Now Muslim advocates are up in arms, forcing Jennings to apologize over a picture of three simple umbrellas.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that they noticed the post this week on Jennings’ LinkedIn account, which he had originally shared about three months ago. They noted that another ICE official had “liked” the post.
In a caption attached to the post, Jennings wrote that he was trying to use "lessons learned from my terrorism mentor … Guess I need more work." After The Chronicle asked ICE officials about the post, Jennings removed it from the job-oriented social networking site.
Jennings said in a statement that it was "directed to a former co-worker and instructor in Arab culture and was meant to poke fun at myself and use me as an example to show that everyone can and should keep learning about people from different cultures, including people like me with extensive experience working with different cultures and traditions."
"I am horrified that the post would be taken as anything other than a dig at myself, but upon further reflection, I understand how it could be interpreted otherwise and am truly sorry," he said. "It was not my intention to offend anyone and I hope that the explanation of my intent assuages any hurt the post may have inadvertently caused."
CAIR is quote outraged over the matter, and claims it “follows the trend that our president and his administration have set in their offensive and often dangerous language.”
Immigration experts and advocates said the post raises concerns about Jennings and the way he views Muslims. The discovery comes amid increased tension between California and the Trump administration over ICE enforcement and the state's pro-immigrant sanctuary laws.
"That he did not see the problem with his post until it was pointed out worries me about his ability to lead and carry out his duties, particularly as they relate to immigrants from Muslim-majority countries," said Zahra Billoo, head of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Bay Area. "Unfortunately, this follows the trend that our president and his administration have set in their offensive and often dangerous language."

The fallout continues as companies continue pull their ads from “The Ingraham Angle,” hosted by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, after Parkland high school student David Hogg called for a boycott when Ingraham accused him of “whining” about being rejected by four colleges.
Friday night, Ingraham announced she would be taking a week off from her show. However, the exodus of advertisers is still occurring, with the list now up to at least 15 companies who have said they will no longer be sponsoring the show. (Scroll down to view the complete list, as of this reporting.)
The Hill reported Saturday:
Hearing aid manufacturer Miracle-Ear is pulling its ads from Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show.
The company is one of at least 14 to pull advertising from “The Ingraham Angle” after she attacked Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg on Twitter.
“As of this morning, we have removed The Ingraham Angle from our TV advertising plan,” the company wrote in a tweet. “It may take a few days for this change to take effect.”
The list of companies reported to be pulling their ads from Ingraham’s show now include the following:
The fallout began Thursday, after Hogg tweeted out a list of advertisers on Ingraham’s show, asking his followers to boycott them – all because Ingraham had tweeted that Hogg was “whining” about being rejected by four colleges in California.
Ingraham apologized to Hogg in another Twitter post Thursday, but he hotly rejected her apology, declaring, “I 100% agree an apology in an effort just to save your advertisers is not enough. I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I️ in this fight. It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children.”
Instead, Hogg has ramped up the calls for more advertisers to drop out, and asked his followers to help his efforts. All because she described him as “whining” over rejections by four colleges.
Many Facebook users have now started to push back, telling Hogg he should lay off and let it go.
