DAMASCUS, SYRIA (9:30 A.M.) – Fierce battles are taking place around the clock as the Syrian Army keeps advancing in the last ISIS-controlled district in southern Damascus.
Yesterday, the Syrian forces managed to re-take the entire farm area and reach out for the southern outskirts of the ISIS-held Hajar Aswad district.
18-minutes combat footage filmed by ANNA News captures the moment tanks of the elite 4th Armored Division engaged in urban warfare against ISIS jihadists who delivered hail of RPGs and sniper shots.
The footage also shows the heavy airstrikes conducted in the area to support the ground invasion.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (9:00 A.M.) – A ceasefire was declared yesterday between the Syrian government and rebel fighters in north Homs pocket only a short time after the country’s troops began a full offensive.
According to reports, the opposition factions called for a 24-hour ceasefire in order to engage in full negotiations with the Syrian government.
However, AMN has learnt that rebel groups have already agreed on to surrender their last enclave where the meeting intended to be held on Tuesday will discuss the detailed terms of their surrender.
Sources told AMN that rebel groups will ask Russia – the broker of negotiations – to allow the Russian military police and Syrian security forces into the their towns rather than the Syrian Army troops.
Militants belong to Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and other jihadi groups who are unwilling to surrender will be evacuated to the province of Idlib.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:25 A.M.) – The Israeli military carried out the deadly attack on the Syrian Arab Army’s bases in western Hama and southern Idlib, yesterday, a source from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) told Al-Masdar News on Monday.
According to this military source, the Israeli Air Force heavily bombarded the Brigade 47 Base (western Hama) and the towns located near the Nayrab Airport (southern Aleppo).
The source added that the Israeli Air Force used an F-35 jet to evade detection and carry out the pinpoint attacks on these aforementioned areas.
These missile strikes also resulted in the death of more than 30 soldiers at the Brigade 47 Base, which is considered a hub for the Syrian Arab Army’s large supply of ballistic missiles.
The explosions that followed this attack were said to have measured at least 2.6 on the Richter Scale, with some reports claiming that the bombing could be heard from several kilometers.
Israel has yet to comment on the attack.

Syrian state media reported Monday that the Syrian Army has conducted precision and intensive airstrikes on fortified militant positions in the Al-Hajar al-Aswad area to the south of Damascus.
According to SANA, Syria’s state news agency, the Syrian Air Force carried out an intensive bombardment of fortified positions and infiltration routes used by terrorists in the area and inflicted heavy personnel and equipment losses upon them.
The reporter stressed that military operations against terrorist groups in the area will not stop until they are completely wiped out from the south of Damascus. At the same time, the Syrian government is beginning to implement the evacuation agreement reached Sunday with the jihadist group Tahrir al-Sham, also known as al-Qaeda in Syria.
The agreement calls for the evacuation of militants from areas controlled by the militia in the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp near southern Damascus to the northern city of Idlib in exchange for freeing 5,000 civilians from the towns of Kefraya and Fua. Al-Hajar al-Aswad is one of the neighborhoods of the besieged Palestinian refugee camp.
The agreement reportedly gives fighters and their families the choice to evacuate the areas of Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahem or hand over their weapons and remain, according to SANA. Implementation of the deal is expected to be completed before May 15.
The rebel pocket in southern Damascus has been the focus of a massive bombardment and intense fighting since the Syrian Army recaptured Eastern Ghouta, another strategic Damascus suburb, earlier this month. Syrian government forces have since intensified their efforts to eliminate the last pockets of terrorists in greater Damascus.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011. Numerous opposition factions and terrorist groups like Daesh have been attempting to topple the government of President Bashar al-Assad and establish control.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:50 A.M)- A bill has just been passed through the Israeli Knesset, granting the Prime Minister of the Israeli Regime, the ability to wage war with only the approval of his/her ‘Defence Minister’.
The Bill, passed late this Monday, was initially rejected, only to then be voted in favour of by the Israeli Knesset.
This Bill will now allow for the current Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to wage war as and when he likes, only having to seek approval from his Defence Minister, Avidgdor Leiberman.
The bill stated that in “extreme circumstance” the PM would be granted the right to wage war.
The Israeli Defence Minister, Avigdor Leiberman, was quoted as declaring there are “no innocents in Gaza” when addressing the topic of the current non-violent demonstrations in Gaza.
Forty Six Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, since the start of the ‘Great Rerurn March’, which beginning on the 30th of March, 7000+ others have also been injured.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 P.M.) – A powerful attack was carried out last night against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the Hama countryside that killed more than 30 soldiers.
The attack completely destroyed the Brigade 47 Base, causing a massive explosion that could be heard throughout much of the country.
According to a Syrian military source, the attack was carried out by the Israeli Air Force; however, the latter has yet to comment on the allegations.
The military source added that the attack was believed to have been carried out by an Israeli F-35 fighter jet, as the remnants of glide bombs were found at the site.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:35 P.M.) – The first rebels have left the Yarmouk Camp District tonight after an agreement was put in place between their forces and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
According to a military source in Damascus, at least five buses filled with militants from Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and other rebel groups departed from the Yarmouk Camp for northern Syria.
This departure of the rebel fighters from the Yarmouk Camp comes at the same time a large number of civilians departed from the Shiite towns of Al-Fou’aa and Kafraya in the Idlib Governorate.
With the rebels gone from Yarmouk Camp, the Syrian Army can now shift their attention to the imperative town of Hajar Al-Aswad, which is still mostly under the control of the Islamic State.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – Thousands rallied in the streets of Sa’dah on Monday to protest the killing of senior Houthi official Saleh Al-Sammad in Saudi-led coalition airstrike on April 19th.
Al-Sammad was allegedly killed in an air raid with his six companions on the way to meeting with local officials in Hodeidah.
Former director of the Houthis leader office Mahdi al-Mashat was later sworn in as president of the Supreme Political Council, replacing Sammad.
The Saudi-led bombing campaign continues in Yemen with US backing. The United Nations estimated that more than 10,000 have been killed and more than three million people have been displaced since beginning of the war in March 2015.

The success of the Syrian government in its fight with terrorist and armed groups, some of which are supported by the Western states, makes Syria’s opponents resort to direct aggression, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said on Monday.
“It is clear that the region is going through the stage of the world map’s redrawing and the escalation of aggression against Syria and enemy nations’ resort to direct aggression after the defeat of their cells and associates will only strengthen Syrians’ desire to fully eradicate terrorism and its various forms,” Assad said at the meeting with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the foreign policy and national security committee at the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly.
The Syrian president has once again stressed the right of the Syrian people to defend the country’s sovereignty and to decide on its future independently, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
Boroujerdi, in turn, stressed that the United States, its allies and proxies had been defeated in Syria, adding that the failure of the recent missile attack on Syria reaffirmed the strength and steadfastness of “the resistance axis” in the country. Boroujerdi highlighted that Iran would continue to provide assistance to Syria.
The situation in Syria has been extremely tense over the past few weeks in light of reports about an alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma, which was followed by a missile attack by France, the United Kingdom and the United States on a number of targets in Syria on April 14.
Syrian officials have refuted all allegations and said that terrorists staged the attack to influence public opinion and impede the advances of the Syrian army against them. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a total of 103 cruise missiles were launched by the US-led coalition, 71 of which were intercepted by Syria's air defense systems.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:58 P.M.) – In an official statement, the US-led Coalition has alluded to only firing warning shots in response to an attack by Syrian pro-government forces against US-backed fighters in Deir Ezzor province on Sunday.
Apparently, US-led Coalition firepower assets (warplanes and possibly Marine Corps artillery units) only used ‘a deliberate demonstration of force to de-escalate the situation’ that resulted in ‘no casualties or damage to infrastructure as a result of this demonstration of force.’
The official account of the US-led Coalition – delivered by the Pentagon – syncs up with what some Syrian military sources referred to as only ‘light’ and ‘symbolic’ airstrikes by Western jets that appeared to not actually be hitting troops or positions on the ground.
On Sunday, Syrian pro-government forces carried out a sudden attack against US-backed forces on the eastern shore of the Euphrates in Deir Ezzor province, temporarily capturing four or five towns and villages before retreating from all gains after several hours.

A series of powerful explosions that rocked military installations in Syria's Aleppo and Hama provinces were apparently so powerful they were treated as earthquakes by a European monitoring center.
The tremors, ranked as a Magnitude 2.6 quake by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, were apparently detected in the aftermath of “powerful explosions” that occurred at the “the arms depot of the 47th brigade of the Syrian army" near Hama in the aftermath of the alleged attack, though the exact cause of this quake has yet to be determined.
According to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the missile attacks that apparently hit several Syrian government military bases on Saturday evening might've been conducted by Israeli forces, though the country’s representatives have refused to comment on the issue.
Earlier on Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated that Israel would continue to maintain its freedom to operate in Syria.
“We have no intention to attack Russia or to interfere in domestic Syrian issues. But if somebody thinks that it is possible to launch missiles or to attack Israel or even our aircraft, have no doubt we will respond, and we will respond very forcefully,” he said at an annual Jerusalem Post conference.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 P.M.) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated his country’s support for Jordan, speaking alongside Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi, after a bilateral meeting in Amman on Monday.
“In February the United States and Jordan signed a new five year MOU [memorandum of understanding] in which we committed to provide over 6.3 billion dollars in bilateral foreign assistance to Jordan over the next five years,” said Pompeo.
“The conflict raging in Syria remains a threat to Jordanian peace and security. We’ll continue to work with Jordan to help the kingdom defend its borders, always,” he added.
Speaking on US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Pompeo said, “the United States is not taking a position on boundaries or borders and will support a two-state solution if the parties agree to it. The specific boundaries of Israel sovereignty and Jerusalem remain subject to negotiation between those parties.”
Pompeo is visiting Jordan as part of his first trip to the Middle East since assuming office on Thursday. In the past week he visited Saudi Arabia and Israel.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – A suspected Israeli missile strike against the Syrian government forces and their allies destroyed much of a small town in the Aleppo Governorate last night.
According to local reports, the suspected Israeli missiles struck Al-Malkiyah in the Aleppo countryside, destroying several buildings inside this town located near the Nayrab Military Airport.
As shown in one of the photos below, the remnants of a missile that appears to be a glide bomb struck a building in Al-Malkiyah, indicating that it may have been dropped from a warplane.
A source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News this afternoon that if it was the Israeli Air Force that carried out this attack, the latter would have most likely used their F-35 jet, as the Syrian Air Defense cannot detect them.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:35 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their Palestinian allies have made remarkable progress in the southern districts of Damascus, today, as their troops continue to advance through the Islamic State’s (ISIL) well-fortified front-lines.
Led by their 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard and 9th Division shock troops, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies managed to liberate several buildings inside the northwestern part of Hajar Al-Aswad on Monday, forcing the Islamic State to have to heavily reinforce their front-lines in order to avoid being overrun.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army is now on the verge of breaking through the Islamic State’s main line of defense in northwestern Hajar Al-Aswad.
If the Syrian Army is successful in breaking through the terrorist lines, ISIL will have a difficult time trying to defend the last parts of Hajar Al-Aswad they control.
The military source would add that the Syrian Army and their Palestinian allies are expected to make a large-scale advance in Hajar Al-Aswad in the coming hours, as ISIL’s defenses continue to crack. .

US-led coalition forces have closed the Baghdad headquarters of the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command Headquarters, signaling the end of major combat operations against Daesh terrorist group, Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a press release on Monday.
“The Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command (CJFLCC) Headquarters was deactivated today at a ceremony in Baghdad, signifying the end of major combat operations against ISIS* [Daesh] in Iraq and acknowledging the changing composition and responsibilities of the Coalition,” the release said.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:40 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists in the southern districts of Damascus recently abandoned their posts inside Al-Qadam, following an intense battle with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
As ISIS was retreating from Al-Qadam to nearby Hajar Al-Aswad, the Syrian Arab Army struck the fleeing terrorists with round after round of artillery shells and missiles.
Video footage of the Syrian Army attacking the retreating ISIS terrorists was captured by a drone that was flying over the Al-Qadam District at that point in time – please see below:

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:35 P.M.) – Up to 20 buses entered two besieged towns of Fouaa and Kafraya in rural Idlib to begin an evacuation agreement concluded earlier between the Syrian Army and Nusra jihadi group.
The buses will transport up to 1200 people as the first batch to government-held areas in northern Syria. In exchange, jihadi rebels in Yarmouk Refugee Camp in southern Damascus shall hand over their positions to the Syrian Army and eventually be evacuated to the country’s north.
The deal was reached following fierce battles in besieged Yarmouk Camp as part of a wider offensive launched by the government troops to reclaim all insurgent-controlled districts in southern Damascus.
Thousands of civilians have been trapped inside the two Shia towns since the jihadi groups completely besieged them in 2015 after capturing the northern Syrian city of Idlib.

Syrian witnesses who testified last week in The Hague that the alleged poison gas attack in Douma was a setup were subjected to pressure from journalists, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday.
In an interview with the Voskresny Vecher Vladimirom Solovyovym (Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov) program on the Rossiya-1 television channel, Zakharova said that during the April 26 media conference in The Hague, an ITV correspondent asked the Syrians how much they were paid for taking part, while a BBC reporter suggested that the visit to The Hague could inflict a “psychological trauma” on one of the eyewitnesses, a 12-year-old Syrian boy.
“Journalists, who have been exploiting the theory of democracy <…> and children's images for many years, are now asking a boy whether he was psychologically traumatized by the journey to The Hague… I've found the names of those reporters, not only from the UK, but from The Netherlands as well,” she said. “During our next briefing I will show you the names of those reporters and we will reconstruct the true picture of how they mistreated those Syrians.”
“I would like to ask those UK reporters: when they called for the Arab Spring in the Middle East and North Africa in their reports six or seven years ago, have they ever thought of how traumatizing those events may be for children who were unborn at that moment?” she added.
A number of NGOs, including The White Helmets, have been claiming that chemical weapons were used in Syria's Douma on April 7. Specialists from the Russian center for the reconciliation of conflicting parties explored Douma on April 9 to find nothing that might look like traces of a chemical attack. The next day the OPCW made a decision to dispatch its specialists to Syria to look into the rumored use of chemical weapons.
OPCW inspectors arrived in Damascus on April 14. Several hours before that the United States, Britain and France used the rumors of the incident as a pretext to deal a massive air strike on Syria without approval from the UN Security Council.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said a research center in Damascus, the headquarters of the republican guard, an air defense base, and several airdromes and military warehouses were among the targets.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the attack lasted from 03:42 to 05:10 local time. Of the 103 missiles that attacked Syria the country's air defense shot down 71. Three local civilians were injured.
On Thursday, Russia's and Syria's missions to the OPCW organized a briefing for the organization's members on the alleged chemical attack. Moscow and Damascus brought to The Hague, where the OPCW has its office, seventeen witnesses from Douma, including medics from the local hospital, who testified the rumored chemical attack was a fake.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:45 P.M.) – For the first time during this war, the Russian Aerospace Forces have deployed their highly improved Su-25SM3 jet to the Hmaymim Airport in western Syria.
According to locals in the Tartous Governorate, the Su-25SM3 recently landed at the Hmaymim Airport in southwest Latakia after making a long flight from a Russian airbase.
Nicknamed the “Supergrach” by Russian pilots, this jet is capable of launching airstrikes at night or day and in all weather conditions.
Previously, an Su-25 aircraft was shot down by the rebel forces in the Hama Governorate; this forced the Russian Aerospace Forces to deploy this newly modified aircraft to Syria.

Haaretz has reported that a spate of alleged missile attacks on Syrian military bases in the Hama and Aleppo provinces might be staged by Israeli forces.
Speaking to Sputnik, a spokeswoman for the Israeli Defense Forces has declined to comment on missile strikes against several Syrian government military bases in Aleppo and Hama that the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported took place on Saturday evening.
“We refuse to comment [on this],” she said.
Earlier, SANA, Syria’s state-run news agency reported that explosions had been heard near the cities of Hamas and Aleppo.
According to other media outlets, a missile strike, conducted at approximately 19:30 GMT, targeted Syrian army installations in the area.
Reuters in turn quoted Hama locals as saying that the attacked bases were being used by Iranian-backed forces.
Israel might be responsible for the attack, according to a report published by Haaretz. The newspaper cited Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman as saying that Tel Aviv would continue to declare that it had freedom to operate in Syria.
On April 9, two Israeli F-15 fighter jets struck the T-4 airbase in Syria, killing seven Iranian military advisers operating in the country on behalf of the government.
Israel warned at the time that it could hit Iranian bases in war-torn Syria, should tensions with Tehran escalate, according to the Jerusalem Post.
On April 14, the US, the UK and France launched missile strikes on Syria’s civil and military targets over the alleged chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburb of Douma. The Russian Defense Ministry said that they have enough proof that the attack was a provocation aimed to prod the US to stage a missile attack on Syria.
