After teasing fans earlier this year with a video that hid the full Venom reveal, everyone's favorite alien Symbiote is now on full display in the new trailer release from Sony.
In Venom, Tom Hardy stars as Eddie Brock, a man who becomes linked with an alien Symbiote that turns him into Venom, one of the ultimate villains in the Spider-Man universe. Although Venom and the Symbiote have a big influence on Spider-Man in the Marvel comic books, this film is expected to take place outside of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, which includes the appearance by the web-slinger in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.
Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) directed Venom from a screenplay by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal on board as producers. In addition to Hardy, Venom stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott, and Jenny Slate.
Venom / Eddie Brock was previously portrayed by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, and the character first appeared on the paneled page in 1988's The Amazing Spider-Man #300.
Venom is scheduled to come out in theaters on October 5th from Sony Pictures. Stay tuned to Daily Dead and check out the new trailer and poster below!

April's home entertainment releases are closing out on a strong note, as we have a bunch of great titles coming our way on Tuesday. Arrow Video has put together a stellar Special Edition set for Killer Klowns from Outer Space that fans are definitely going to want to pick up, and Kino Lorber has given the cult classic The Boneyard an HD overhaul as well. Scream Factory is keeping busy with a trio of cinematic treats—Daughters of Satan, the Collector's Edition of Cyborg and a Troll/Troll 2 double feature—and Full Moon has put together a special set for the original Puppet Master to boot.
Other notable releases for April 24th include The Maze 3D, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, 7 Guardians of the Tomb, Him, and Dead Justice.
The Boneyard (Kino Lorber, Blu-ray)
A policeman (Ed Nelson) and a psychic (Deborah Rose) link cult mayhem to a morgue (run by Norman Fell) where ancient ghouls are on the loose. The film plunges into the nightmarish experiences of a portly, depressed psychic (Deborah Rose), whose involvement in a grisly child-murder case leads her and her detective partner (Ed Nelson) to an imposing, fortress-like mortuary. Chen the owner of the funeral home and prime suspect in the case, claims the three mummified corpses in question are not children but ancient demons known as "Kyoshi". It seems the little monsters have been around for centuries as a result of an age-old curse and can only be placated with offerings of human flesh — with which the mortician has been supplying them his entire life. When Chen is jailed on murder charges, the under-fed ghouls awaken in search of dinner, trapping the staff inside the mortuary walls and devouring them. The survivors, including Rose and Nelson, use every means at their disposal to combat the demons, which have possessed the bodies of morgue attendant Mrs. Poopinplatz (Phyllis Diller) and her poodle, mutating them into hideous monsters.

Only Pearl Prophet (Dayle Haddon), a beautiful half human/half cyborg, has the knowledge necessary to develop a vaccine. But during her quest to gather data and bring the cure to the world, Pearl is captured by cannibalistic Flesh Pirates who plot to keep the antidote for themselves and rule the world. Now, only saber-wielding hero Gibson Rickenbacker (Van Damme) can rescue her and save civilization.
Daughters of Satan (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)
Tom Selleck Stars In A Bewitching Occult Thriller! Be careful what you witch for with this spellbinding thriller that delves into the realms of ancient covens and the conquistadors who loathe them. Tom Selleck delivers a commanding performance as James Robertson, an antique dealer living in Manila. James buys a Spanish painting dating back to 1592 from an art gallery ... because the painting depicts three witches being burned at the stake and one of the witches has an uncanny resemblance to James' wife, Chris. But the similarity turns out to be much more than a coincidence when Chris becomes possessed by the spirit of her evil doppelganger. She soon meets two local women who resemble the other two witches from the painting. The three decide to murder James, as he may be a descendant of the conquistador responsible for the burning of the original coven.

Through three feature films and three seasons of a TV series, Bruce Campbell showed us that even on your worst, limb-losing, blood-spattered days, life can still be groovy. Now, after nearly four decades since he first played Ash Williams, Campbell has announced his retirement from the portrayal of the iconic chainsaw-revving character.
In a heartfelt letter to his fans on Facebook, Campbell announced his retirement from playing Ash, the ultimate Deadite slayer. The announcement comes in the wake of Starz's cancelation of Ash vs Evil Dead after three seasons (the series finale airs on April 29th).
Even though Campbell is retiring from his portrayal of Ash Williams, that doesn't mean we won't see future stories told in the Evil Dead universe, although no announcements of future projects have been made. In the meantime, though, you can read Campbell's message to his fans below (via Facebook), and be sure to take time to reflect upon and say farewell to one of the most iconic character portrayals in horror history.

The summer of 2019 could see the release of a new movie in The Conjuring cinematic universe, but which film will it be?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has slated an untitled movie in The Conjuring universe for a July 3rd, 2019 release.
While the untitled movie has yet to be revealed, it was reported last summer that New Line Cinema was developing a spinoff movie based on the creepy Crooked Man supernatural character from The Conjuring 2.
The Crooked Man (a character from the English nursery rhyme "There Was a Crooked Man") provided viewers of the Conjuring sequel with ample amounts of nightmare fuel when his long limbs and lean frame (not unlike Slender Man or the Endgrave from the Stoney Creek podcast) stalked the halls of the Enfield house in The Conjuring 2. Actor and incredible contortionist Javier Botet portrayed the Crooked Man in the Conjuring sequel, and although it's not yet known if this new Conjuring movie will be a Crooked Man film, it could be fun to see Botet reprise the role.
Currently in the works with Mike Van Waes writing a screenplay from a story by James Wan (who will also produce along with Peter Safran), the Crooked Man movie would be the latest spinoff in an expanded cinematic universe that also includes The Nun (coming out this September) and the Annabelle films.
The untitled Conjuring movie could also be The Conjuring 3, which is in development with David Leslie Johnson writing a screenplay for the further adventures of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are announced. What new Conjuring movie would you like to see on the big screen?
