::::Sangdeboeuf Validating Vox as unbiased based on a whopping two positive editor references (based on completely unrelated topics) on reliable sources does not make it so but i get it and just to even out the odds, more reliable sources editors questioning Vox's credibility and chosing to not use them as references. Here is a great article by deadspin covering Vox's disasterous reporting credentials. Other great sources for Vox's credibility (outside Google) are watchdog groups such as the left leaning: Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR), right leaning Media Research Center (MRC) and the relatively non partisan Media Bias/Fact Check (MBFC News).

::::On repeating Verbatim (see churnalism) being considered validation from multiple/secondary/tertiary sources, I really do expect better from editors but when I see certain editors claim two guardian articles are two different sources (after mislabelling one), I suggest we conduct a refresher on COI. In 2002, along with Marta, the then Secretary of Sports of the State Lars Grael, and the Governor of São Paulo Geraldo Alckmin, officialized the candidacy of São Paulo for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

In 2006, Nádia runned for Vice Governor of São Paulo along with Aloizio Mercadante. Mercadante was defeated in the first round by José Serra of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB). In 2012, was elected Vice Mayor with Fernando Haddad of the Workers' Party (PT).

*Comments only at the moment. We haven't made giving DS alerts mandatory, we have made it mandatory that sanctions cannot be imposed under DS without an alert. Even if an editor thinks that another editor may edit disruptively in an article covered by DS, they aren't mandated to give that editor a DS notice. In fact we've ruled that "Any editor who issues alerts disruptively may be sanctioned." What I don't see yet, other than the discussion about alerts, is anything we can do as the policies being discussed are community policies. It's possible some of my colleagues will differ and if so I'll be interested in hearing their arguments. * Likewise, commenting only. A DS alert is a prerequisite for issuing sanctions; it is not a hard and fast obligation to leave on the talk page of any editor who edits any BLP anywhere on the site. Should that change? I'm not sure that's for us to decide. Ivanvector Are you taking issue with the DS alert here, or simply (ha!) the weight of EVASION vs BLP, or all of it? <span style="color: #9932CC">Katietalk</span> 00:41, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

* My first instinct here is that those who've been busy with reverting (what they believe to be) Hillbillyholiday's edits need to take a step back and make the argument from the beginning, because I feel like this request sort of starts in medias res. They may well be right that HH's removals reflect poor content judgment and the material removed mostly does not violate BLP. But then I'd expect to see some diffs indicating examples of this poor judgment and examples of the disruption that might be caused by removing perfectly good, well-sourced, but perhaps not flattering material. As framed, this request is mostly about back-office, inside-baseball stuff, which WP:OMGWTFBBQ trumps which, and if I accept that framing then I have to say that this seems like a loss of perspective. An understandable one, and a very common one when an editor is repeatedly engaging in the same annoying behavior, but even so - if HH is right, or at least often right, and this stuff he's removing violates BLP, and people are restoring BLP violations because they think enforcing some internal rule is more important, then they're in the wrong. The encyclopedia is the important part, rules about who contributes and how and when and who should post what on which talk pages are all there to facilitate writing the articles, and if there's garbage in the articles then we certainly don't go around putting it back because of the specifics of how it got removed. In short, trout to John for the officious warning, thumbs-up to Black Kite for a better solution to the apparent problem of good reverts by socks, and otherwise decline this as a full case. Writing for PC PowerPlay in Australia, reviewer March Stepnik compared Alexander favorably to real-time strategy titles such as Command & Conquer and Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. Like Trotter, who considered the game to be "packed with authenticity", Stepnik singled out Alexanders "authentic feel" and deep, realistic strategy as high points. While he found the graphics mediocre and music unsuitable, he enjoyed the game overall. "Just don't be expecting any cheap and easy thrills — this will require some major investment", Stepnik concluded.

* I can confirm Fram's observations on the "jajaxedlol" issue, which I saw yesterday while working through some Template talk:Infobox World Heritage Site#Step by steps. I couldn't find out what had caused it (as Fram apparently eventually did), so after thinking some time about how to report it here I eventually didn't while not knowing how to present it in a way that illustrated what exactly was going wrong. --Francis Schonken (talk) 10:47, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

We are now full week after this vandalism edit, but an en.wikipedia search results in hundreds of results for jajaxedlol. For the same reason, the catalan Wikipedia has hundreds of pages for gilipollas.

Although the same thing would be happening, likely, if Heart of Neolithic Orkney was changed to have those parameters, it would still only be one page that would be affected. That would indeed be worse if the template was changed (but the template in this case is protected ..).

The modern travel agency first appeared in the second half of the 19th century with its root in 1758 as establishment of Cox & Kings Ltd. In the year 1970, Cox & Kings the longest established travel company centered its focus on its business of travel and tourism. Lately Thomas Cook also established a chain of agencies in the last quarter of the 19th century, in association with the Midland Railway. They not only sold their own tours to the public, but in addition, represented other tour companies. Other British pioneer travel agencies were Dean & Dawson, the Polytechnic Touring Association, and the Co-operative Wholesale Society. Travel agencies became more commonplace with the development of commercial aviation, starting in the 1920s. *Oppose- I'm not against retaining WP:BEFORE as advice describing good practice, and I don't really mind modifying that advice. But I am against making any part of WP:BEFORE mandatory. Experience has shown that it's very often used just to heap contempt and abuse on AfD nominators, and to derail quite adequate nominations on a technicality. BEFORE-thumping does more to poison AfD than a few sloppy nominations, and leaves the encyclopedia full of uneverifiable trivia. As for this specific amendment, I cannot support it for the reasons outlined by User:Cryptic just above. Especially the point about people with high sourcing standards getting lambasted for allegedly not searching at all- that describes the majority of "did you even BEFORE?!?!?" complaints in my experience. *Oppose as I said in my RfA, I consider BEFORE to be the most important part of the AfD process, but this is ridiculous and would be subject to gaming to the point that virtually every AfD nomination would be speedy kept based on the ambigious wording suggested ("describe their search", what the heck does that even mean? I'm one of the more thorough AfD nominators who goes into detail about the sourcing in the article, and I don't know if I've ever "described my search" beyond saying something like 'Google News and Google Books don't appear to return anything much else.'")pbOn top of that, this promotes the non-policy based idea that notability is the most important thing in the AfD process. That's simply false: it is one of 14 reasons for deletion, and too often notability is simply distilled to the GNG, which is not supported in the slightest by WP:N, which makes it clear WP:NOT must be passed in addition to the GNG or an SNG. I don't care if it is worded as when notability is the primary reason, it will only serve to bolster the idea that the GNG is some super-policy above all other policies: an idea that has no consensus, and has been rejected every time WP:N is attempted to be brought from guideline status to policy status.pbBEFORE is very important, but there are plenty of cases that come to AfD where notability is only one of many reasons to consider deleting it. Making it harder to use the rest of the deletion policy serves the interest of no one except those who want to keep Wikipedia's culture in 2003 and forget that we are now the world's default reference work.
