ANKARA, Turkey: A Turkish official says six Turkish nationals who were held by a Libyan force have been released.
A Foreign Ministry official says the six crewmembers of a ship were released on Monday, a day after Turkey vowed it would consider Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar's forces as "legitimate targets" if the Turkish nationals remained in detention.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.

ANKARA: Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan said Russian S-400 defenses would begin arriving within 10 days, Turkish media reported, setting the clock ticking on possible US sanctions after his warm meeting with President Donald Trump on Saturday.
Hard-hit Turkish financial assets jumped on Monday after a weekend in which Erdogan said Trump had told him at a G20 summit there would be no US sanctions, and the US leader said Turkey had been treated unfairly over the missiles deal.

BEIRUT: Lebanon's state-run National News Agency says Lebanese troops have entered refugee settlements in a town near the Syrian border to make sure that brick and concrete walls have been torn down.
Earlier this year, the military gave refugees until July 1 to remove any wall taller than waist high.
NNA said only four of the 20 settlements that the troops visited on Monday still had walls.
Arsal is home to 60,000 refugees who live in informal camps set up in the fields.

BENGHAZI, Libya: Forces loyal to eastern Libyan military leader Khalifa Haftar will start heavy air strikes on targets in the capital Tripoli, one of his commanders said on Monday, urging residents to stay away from militia and military camps.
Commander Mohamed Manfour said the air campaign came after "traditional means" of war had been exhausted to "liberate" Tripoli, which is under the control of the country's internationally recognized government.

Crowds of protesters had flooded Khartoum and Omdurman, just across the Nile river from the capital, along with several other cities and towns across the country.

CAIRO: Eritrean migrants say the facility where they are detained in western Libya was caught in the crossfire between rival militias.
The two migrants told The Associated Press on Monday that guards fled the Gharyan detention center, which houses nearly 30 migrants, including 10 suffering from tuberculosis. Militiamen stormed the center on Wednesday, holding one migrant at gunpoint and accusing him of supporting Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar's self-styled Libyan National Army. The migrants say the same militia returned in the following days to try to recruit them as fighters.

Companies that break New Zealand's ban will face heavy penalties, including fines of up to $67,000.
