REPORT: Twitter announces how they will address tweets by world leaders that ‘violate rules’

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 10:33 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by BUZZFEEDNEWS.COM:

Twitter will add warning labels to tweets from world leaders that break its rules following years of public criticism and uncertainty around contentious posts from Donald Trump and other politicians.

On Thursday, the San Francisco-based company introduced a new policy for tweets from well known government officials that violate its policies on abuse, harassment, and violent threats. Instead of removing the violative posts, it will put them behind a warning notice. That notice will explain that a tweet was found to be in violation of Twitter's policies, but has been allowed to remain on the platform because the company believes it to be in "the public's interest."

The article goes on to state the following:

"Our highest priority is to protect the health of the public conversation on Twitter, and an important part of that is ensuring our rules and how we enforce them are easy to understand," the company said in a blog post on Thursday. "In the past, we've allowed certain Tweets that violated our rules to remain on Twitter because they were in the public's interest, but it wasn't clear when and how we made those determinations."

BuzzFeed reported that a Twitter spokesperson said the change was “not inspired by any specific world leader.”

The spokesperson also said the policy will not be retroactive and will apply only to tweets from verified accounts of government officials or candidates for public office with more than 100,000 followers.

Anti-Trump actress Alyssa Milano touted the report in a Twitter post:

REPORT: Twitter says it will label tweets from Trump and other leaders that break its rules

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 10:33 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by CNN.com:

New York (CNN Business) — Twitter plans to place a disclaimer on future tweets from world leaders that break its rules but which Twitter decides are in the “public interest,” the company said in a blog post Thursday.

This policy change could face its most prominent test in President Trump. Trump has repeatedly tested Twitter’s community standards with his regular tirades on the platform and some of the president’s tweets have run afoul of Twitter’s rules.

The article goes on to state the following:

Twitter (TWTR) has in the past allowed tweets from Trump and other world leaders to remain online, even though they broke the company’s rules, a Twitter spokesperson confirmed to CNN Business, because it believes the tweets are in the public interest.

The company provided a list of criteria that would inform this decision, including “Whether preserving a Tweet will allow others to hold the government official, candidate for public office, or appointee accountable for their statements.”

“When a Tweet has this notice placed on it, it will feature less prominently on Twitter,” the company said, adding that such tweets will not appear in Twitter’s algorithmically generated “Top Tweets,” its live event pages, and some other features.

The new feature will apply to verified government officials, political candidates and people who are being considered for a government position and who have more than 100,000 followers, Twitter said.

BREAKING: Police give update on missing Utah student, announce they have a ‘person of interest’

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 10:15 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by FOXNEWS.COM:

Police combing a Salt Lake City home for clues on the whereabouts of missing University of Utah student Mackenzie Lueck named its owner as a “person of interest” Thursday, adding they are searching for a mattress and box spring removed from the home last week.

Lueck, 23, was last seen meeting an unknown individual around 3 a.m. on June 17 near a park in Salt Lake City after being dropped off by a Lyft driver. She hailed the ride after flying in from Los Angeles – where she had attended a funeral – and has not been heard from since.

The article goes on to state the following:

"The owner of the residence where we served the warrant last night is a person of interest,” Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown said at a press conference Thursday. He added that no arrests have been made in what he says is still a missing person's case. The homeowner, according to a detective that spoke to Fox News, will not be identified until police make an arrest.

Multiple reports state that police were seen digging in the back yard of the home, and some neighbors say the homeowner was recently burning something in his backyard that left a "strong stench" in the air.

One neighbor said the homeowner “had turned part of the home into an Airbnb rental property,” and said there are “people coming and going most of the time.”

Police held a press conference on the case Thursday morning:

REPORT: NBC News declares surprising victor in first Democratic debate

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 09:59 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by FOXNEWS.COM:

An NBC News analyst declared President Trump the winner of the first Democratic presidential debate of the 2020 election cycle.

Author and reporter Jonathan Allen expressed surprise that Trump emerged “largely unscathed” as the field of 10 candidates mostly avoided direct attacks on him.

The article goes on to state the following:

Allen said the Democrats seemed more focused on positioning themselves furthest to the left to win over primary voters, rather than appealing to the swing voters that decided the 2016 election.

REPORT: Media critics blast NBC over far-left opinion host Rachel Maddow’s role at Democrat debate

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 09:42 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by FOXNEWS.COM:

Left-wing MSNBC host  Rachel Maddow may be too biased for The New York Times, but she was front and center during NBC's technical-issue-plagued debate between 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls — and critics say it made for a softball fest that was “a loss for journalism and a lost opportunity for media balance.”

With Maddow and Chuck Todd, the NBC News star who began his career as a top aide to liberal former Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin, asking most of the questions, none of the 10 candidates were tested rigorously. Debate moderators are historically straight-news journalists, as opposed to partisan pundits but NBC News decided Maddow, on whose show New York Times reporters are forbidden to appear, was fit to grill presidential hopefuls in an event further tarnished by embarrassing audio glitches.

The article goes on to state the following:

"One would think that NBC News, which purports to be a news organization, would go above and beyond to make sure its hosts' line of questioning was fair and honest, especially given the backlash the network received for its decision to have a far-left pundit moderate a presidential debate," BlazeTV White House correspondent Jon Miller told Fox News.

"Instead, Maddow served up questions about her favorite conspiracy theories including that Miami will be underwater because of global warming and that the Mueller report actually contains secret gems that could still lead to Trump's prosecution," Miller said. "These are unserious questions unbefitting of a news organization but perfectly suitable for this batch of equally unserious candidates, who made a mockery of themselves and the American people with shameless pandering and outright falsehoods."

Maddow managed to speak more than fellow moderators Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie and Jose Diaz-Balart, with the often-criticized Chuck Todd being the only moderator to get more words in, according to ABC News. In fact, Maddow also spoke more than candidates John Delaney, Bill de Blasio and Jay Inslee.

REPORT: House Democrats plan showdown with Senate over border aid

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 09:30 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by TheHill.com:

The partisan showdown over a $4.5 billion border aid package rumbled on Thursday morning, as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Democrats planned a vote on an amended proposal providing explicit protections to migrant children in the face of opposition from the White House and Senate Republicans.

Negotiators are facing a tight deadline to break the impasse, as Congress is poised to leave Washington at week's end for a long July 4 recess. President Trump and Senate Republicans are urging immediate enactment of the Upper Chamber's bill — passed Wednesday with overwhelming bipartisan support — while House liberals are demanding additional language ensuring the administration uses the allotted money to safeguard the children and families crossing the border.

The article goes on to state the following:

The debate is squeezing Democratic leaders between progressives demanding stricter standards at migrant holding facilities and a time crunch to reach a deal before funding runs out in early July.

"It's not about more money," Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said during a press briefing in the Capitol. "It's about more accountability and standards."

House Democrats unveiled a set of changes that would amend the Senate's $4.5 billion package that would provide resources for agencies handling the influx of migrants at the southern border. The Senate passed a bipartisan border aid package by a vote of 84-8 on Wednesday, which came a day after House Democrats passed their own bill that includes more restrictions for treatment of migrants at shelters, following reports of overcrowded and unsanitary conditions. But the original House-passed bill failed in the Senate, 37-55.

"The Senate bill is a good bill. But this is a better bill," House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) said.

REPORT: Pregnant woman changes mind mid-abortion and did this to save her twins [PHOTO]

Posted: 27 Jun 2019 09:28 AM PDT

As the most reliable and balanced news aggregation service on the internet, DML News App offers the following information published by FOXNEWS.COM:

A North Carolina woman, who had just begun the process of a chemical abortion, made a last-minute, split-second decision that saved the life of her babies.

At six weeks pregnant, she walked into A Preferred Women’s Health Center, a Charlotte abortion facility, to end the pregnancy.

The article goes on to state the following:

“Oh, twins,” a technician performing an ultrasound told “Alexis,” a pseudonym used by Pregnancy Help News to protect her identity.

The words were enough. Alexis didn’t need to see the ultrasound. She’d always dreamt of having twins, but she had already begun the process terminating her pregnancy, having swallowed the first “abortion pill” of RU-486 and handed the second to take within 48 hours. Mifepristone, which blocks the natural hormone progesterone and causes the lining of the uterus to release the unborn baby, and misoprostol starts contractions to deliver the dead baby.

According to the report, “Alexis” called the HELP Pregnancy Center, who rushed to get her started on the “abortion pill reversal treatment” and was able to save her twins.
